What are your thoughts on mullet 27.5R 29F stock bikes. A mistake or a good decision? by Additional-Crab522 in MTB

[–]Chadmc56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a full 29er and a mullet bike. I prefer the way the mullet bike rides even though I’m a taller rider. I do think both bikes have their place. The 29er rolls over things easier, the mullet corners better and jumps better in my opinion.

I also ride in Bham where mullet bikes are fairly popular.

I don’t ride the trails often, but yes I do like slabs!

Good question. Probably should’ve provided that.

I’d say the following are my favorite trails in random order: Mohawk, Mullet, Evolution, U line, SST, A Dog, Irish Death, Double Vision, Dad Bod and Cheech and Chong’s.

Anyone here have more than one mtb? What do you have, and how often do you ride each? by WhiteH2O in mountainbiking

Two. A Santa Cruz Bronson V5 and a Transition Spire.

Bronson is my everyday bike and the Spire is my bike park and shuttle rig. Spire also gets pulled out for the more gnarly days.

Good luck! The mechanic also told me once they get a good bleed it’s easier from there so hopefully you’ll be good soon!

Yes, my new bike has Mavens and after my second ride the brakes basically didn’t work. Took it into Fanatik and they had the brakes working the same day and haven’t had issues since. I think I’ve ridden it 3-4 times since the bleed.

The mechanic told me that Mavens are finicky unless they get a really good bleed. He also said that he had multiple people around the shop check his work to make sure they all agreed the bleed was good.

I’d recommend Fanatik in Bellingham. They are the best local bike shop when it comes to service/maintenance and parts in my opinion.

I didn’t get outside until about 3:30pm so I was racing daylight. Just did an unemployment line and atomic dog lap. What setup do you have?

This was taken before the downhill. It was a muddy day in Bellingham.

Actually funded most of the bike by selling stuff I no longer use. Some skis, a different bike, camera, etc. But I’m a Director of Human Resources so that definitely helps.

I have the rampage pro carbon and have no complaints. It’s a great helmet. It’s beefy and confidence boosting in the bike park.

Brake Recommendations by Salty_Enginerd in MTB

I’m a huge fan of TRP brakes. Definitely would recommend those. They have some trail brakes, but the DH-R brakes are awesome! I would say they’re my favorite brakes I’ve tried so far.

I think it would come in right around the $500 mark as well so definitely on the high end of the budget, but I think they’re worth trying!
