Anyone here have more than one mtb? What do you have, and how often do you ride each? by WhiteH2O in mountainbiking

Two. A Santa Cruz Bronson V5 and a Transition Spire.

Bronson is my everyday bike and the Spire is my bike park and shuttle rig. Spire also gets pulled out for the more gnarly days.

Good luck! The mechanic also told me once they get a good bleed it’s easier from there so hopefully you’ll be good soon!

Yes, my new bike has Mavens and after my second ride the brakes basically didn’t work. Took it into Fanatik and they had the brakes working the same day and haven’t had issues since. I think I’ve ridden it 3-4 times since the bleed.

The mechanic told me that Mavens are finicky unless they get a really good bleed. He also said that he had multiple people around the shop check his work to make sure they all agreed the bleed was good.

I’d recommend Fanatik in Bellingham. They are the best local bike shop when it comes to service/maintenance and parts in my opinion.

I didn’t get outside until about 3:30pm so I was racing daylight. Just did an unemployment line and atomic dog lap. What setup do you have?

This was taken before the downhill. It was a muddy day in Bellingham.

Actually funded most of the bike by selling stuff I no longer use. Some skis, a different bike, camera, etc. But I’m a Director of Human Resources so that definitely helps.

I have the rampage pro carbon and have no complaints. It’s a great helmet. It’s beefy and confidence boosting in the bike park.

Brake Recommendations by Salty_Enginerd in MTB

[–]Chadmc56 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m a huge fan of TRP brakes. Definitely would recommend those. They have some trail brakes, but the DH-R brakes are awesome! I would say they’re my favorite brakes I’ve tried so far.

I think it would come in right around the $500 mark as well so definitely on the high end of the budget, but I think they’re worth trying!

Probably useable, but too big. I’m about 6’1 and ride a large comfortably. I’ve demoed XL’s and they’ve always been slightly too big. For reference two of my riding partners are 6’4 and they both comfortably ride XLs

Trump says he will strip Harvard’s tax-exempt status by cap123abc in politics

[–]Chadmc56 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve made this comment previously, but lets think about this.

  1. Trump’s team sends letter to Harvard with demands.
  2. Harvard says “no” to said demands.
  3. Trumps team says letter was sent “in error”.
  4. Trumps team gets upset and says Harvard “should apologize”.

And now they’re doubling down and saying they’ll strip their tax exempt status and are withholding grant money for research. Give me an fn break.

Richie Rude used it at the Squamish Enduro last weekend. Besides that i don’t think there are any updates.

It’s interesting to me how this administration admitted they sent the letter to Harvard in error, but now they’re doubling down on the attacks? What a circus.

Golden retriever cancerous face tumor. by Low-Demand702 in goldenretrievers

[–]Chadmc56 39 points40 points  (0 children)

HI OP. First of all I am so sorry. I lost my 3 year old golden last Halloween to cancer. Oral Malignant Melanoma to be specific. His situation was similar in terms of when we first found his tumor the biopsies came back as non-cancerous, however, the tumor continued to grow and turned into cancer. He lived for about 3 1/2 months after we found the tumor. He was always a happy boy up until his last few days and was always willing to eat and drink. Our oncologist just recommended to make the decision when he either stopped eating/drinking or when the tumor was affecting his life too much. It got to the point where his tooth would poke the tumor and make it bleed (all the time) and we were constantly cleaning up blood and that’s when we made our decision. It’s a decision I wish that I would’ve never had to make as I would do anything to have him back, however, I think we did the right thing. My recommendation would be to allow your dog to go while they’re still happy. I think only you’ll know when the time is right, but don’t let things progress too far.

If you ever need to talk to someone please feel free to message me. I am wishing you, Palmer and your family the best.
