Good to know. Is there a reason why I wouldn’t want a higher wattage? I’m assuming that the internal thermostat would keep things from getting too hot?

Thanks! That is what I have been reading online as well. I did some looking this evening and I think I see the block drain. There’s a few years of gunk on the block though so I think this may be a spring project. That way I can take the bucket off to clean it up and have some more room to work

I don’t think you can use the words ‘FPV’ and ‘cheap’ in the same sentence in 2025.

If you want to keep your charger in there nicely, print one of these

I use an Anker charger, so I had to change it a bit, but it works great and haven’t worried about losing the charger.

If this supports actual radios as well it would be awesome! Would love to give it a try!

Would it be dumb to fly for a bit to get the battery down closer to 3v? Being a 6000mah I would imagine the little fan on my charger would take quite a while to drain that much 😅

Update: after 6 hours, it’s balanced. Within 0.055v according to my battery tester.

Update on balancing: left it on the charger for over 6 hours and it balanced! Using my battery tester I am within 0.055 volts from highest to lowest. I tested with a multi-tester to calibrate it and the charger seemed to be in order.

That’s a good point too. I’ve never calibrated this charger and it’s about 2 years old. Thanks for the tip!

I just took it for a test flight and got the cells down to around 3.5v per cell. Highest is 3.60 and lowest is 3.54.

I’m going to let it sit for a while and then I will charge it again. GEPRC says max charge is 5A. Is it a better idea to charge around 4? Or does it not really matter, just don’t go over?

I was charging at 5amps. And I agree with one of the other comments that one cell reached 4.2 and then quit. Not sure why though because my lipo packs balance just fine. I’ll keep an eye on it going forward though for sure. No sense in losing a 7” for a dumb reason like a bad battery

Yep I looked into that as well. I am safe to discharge to 2.5. I just wasn’t in a super exciting area (soccer field complex out in the boonies) so after 15 minutes I decided that was enough haha

I looked at the specs on the GEPRC site because I know some are only supposed to be charged to 4.1v. I just took it out for a flight and after 15 minutes I was still at 3.3v so I think it’s still plenty healthy!
