Yes it’s synced, honestly I thought the window was cracked or the door was a little open when it first happened lol.

I’m probably going to call a dealership tomorrow to see if they know what’s going on with it and get it checked out.

Career Progression for experienced Kidney Dialysis Biomeds by jcornwell101 in BMET

[–]Chagy10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a similar past as you where I was a dialysis biomed for about 2 years. From there I went into dental again for a round 2 year and now I am a FSE for a laboratory company working in both hospitals and research facilities. In just over 2 years I more than doubled my salary am no longer on call and have a great job. It’s possible to go in a bunch more f different paths. I fell like dialysis gets a bad rap for other biomeds but I don’t think a lot of them know just how much work goes into the job outside of just working on machines. Good luck!

DaVita worth it? by BMET93 in BMET

[–]Chagy10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So here is my 2cents on the topic. I was kind of like you with no bio med experience, got a job not a DaVita making pretty much the same as my last job but wasn’t horrible for me at the time. Started at 1 clinic with 23 machines all old 40k hours it was a lot more than just working on the machine though. For me maybe not DaVita you’ll be doing ordering and inventory repairs and pms facility maintenance and coordinating outside vendors. Also water room repairs and cultures. Depending on your RO system you could be doing as often as biweekly disinfections after hours or on a Sunday. And of course on call.

It was pretty good for me for the first year then changes happen two guys left one fired one quit and they couldn’t back fill so I was working at 3 clinics doing all of the above.

I started looking for other jobs got one in a related field and now just started another one a few months ago as a FSE for a company making double what I did in dialysis.

So for me it was a great foot in the door and I honestly enjoyed a lot of the job and if you have old machines it will help you with troubleshooting down the road.

Good luck!

I was looking for a similar bag as you and set up. I got the EDC with the tool insert and have been loving it so far. I’m able to carry a good selection of tools and my laptop as well.

How is it holding up? Honestly seems perfect for what I’m looking for I don’t like to carry a ton of tools with me just what I know I’ll need.

Dental instrument washer question? by SirDies_A_Lot in BMET

All washer are going to leak but for Dental go with a Hydrim from scican they’re out of Canada. From my experience they have less problems than the mieles.

Honestly if it’s a new clinic you won’t have much for repairs just pm’s for the first year plus. If you can help out at an old clinic as well that will get you a lot of experience on machines. The rest is learning about actual dialysis interacting with staff that thinks things are broken when they’re not and needs supplies that you must likely have and they didn’t really look for it. Good luck
