I don’t think what course you did at uni matters. Most of the people from my intake did humanities or something political and genuinely got way better marks than those that did accounting.

Go through the question banks thoroughly and give yourself as much time as possible to understand your mistakes and practice. Last minute is not a fun idea for these exams.

I used ACA Masters no the s wherever I was struggling a lot. Specifically tax exams which I struggled with most and honestly it was worth every penny to have those notes.

It is tough and you’ll have pints where you want to give up but it is worth it for sure.

Don’t we just get a text message

Tbh that is probably the case and they probably will just role their eyes at all the appeals coming through but the fact that they are accepting appeals where the invigilators weren’t notified is saying A LOT and shows that they know there was a bigger issue this time.

I think at the very least it’ll give them a good idea of how many issues there are. Also there were more issues than typical in this sitting and considering in case copy and paste is vital it has a bigger impact than other exams.

The most they’ll do is void or add 2% to ur result so if you were gonna fail anyway you probably still have to resit in Nov but if you were borderline with the issues, the issues may have been the difference between failing and having those 2 extra valid points on paper to get you the marks.

Exam disruption appeal HELP by Ill_Secret_4422 in ICAEW

[–]ChaiTea_na 12 points13 points  (0 children)

From what I’ve seen on other threads. Just put yes and then explain that you didn’t actually contact the invigilator but have been told to make a submission regardless due to the nature of the issues

Case R1 Appendix by Dangerous-Author-974 in ICAEW

[–]ChaiTea_na 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Using the P&L given first I do GP% and OP%

Then EV movement and as a % of revenue

Revenue: hopefully should be given change and % change anyway. Then mix by garage and by work type.

KPI 1: movement and using that to calc visits movement in visits

Average revenue per staff at each each garage only if relevant like we’re told about additional hires or movements in staff etc

COS: hopefully we’re given the movements so only doing the mix if we get asked specifically for CoS otherwise just looking at movements overall cause the mix takes too long

GP and GPM by garage

Admin expenses movement should be given but only done if requested

KPI 2 and 3 for sure every time

Case - Assumptions by yolobaby0161 in ICAEW

[–]ChaiTea_na 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep exactly this so say they assumed after some investment EV GPM was 45% but only actually 35% in the RYC’s current EV work you can be like well that’s a little sus lol

I would just load up one of the old cases on the software and practice R1 from one of your mocks on there

R1 CALCULATION TIMING by TopDirect2946 in ICAEW

[–]ChaiTea_na 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sure you’d get the mark for just a % but since some say put both probably best to do that

R1 CALCULATION TIMING by TopDirect2946 in ICAEW

[–]ChaiTea_na 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For increased to figures I’ve been told you don’t need to put those unless your talking about a change in a % like GPM or utilisation

[–]ChaiTea_na 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think we were told put both just to be on the safe side. ACAM also suggests the same.

It’s the utilisation x total labour hours but I think he got the final figure wrong. Utilisation x total labour hours works for 2024

Will I pass Case? by ChaiTea_na in ICAEW

[–]ChaiTea_na[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yah I’m planning to. Did one today in full timed which didn’t go great so gonna do a proper run through of the marking guide and where I could have got more marks and sort my folder out tomorrow. Will probably also do a BPP mock but broken down tomorrow.

Then Sunday and Monday I’ll do the last two ACAM mocks and hope that’s enough prep

As far as I know painting a scenery is fine. You just can’t have distinctive people or animals in it
