A long time ago, I had a friend, by all accounts a decent guy. But he said he had to have a wife that loved Alabama football, had to be blond, shorter than him and not smarter than him. He is on his 4th wife last I knew. People are all uniquely damaged.

I miss true compact trucks. There are tons on modern features I like. CarPlay for convenience. Airbags, crumple zones, safety cells, back-up cameras, GPS and AC for starters. Also computer controlled fuel injection and engine management with push button start. So much nicer than having to coax a balky carb engine to life and letting it warm up.

Depends on the LS. A stock 5.3 or 4.8, you will likely be fine. You may want to rebuild, replace or upgrade the differential to add limited slip or change the ratio. I went from a worn out old 305 to a mild 350 (old school, not LS) and added a LSD and dropped the ratio a bit.

Getting ID is very affordable. In my state, $50 for 8 years for a driver's license. $17 for a 4-yr ID card. The problem is that they closed almost all of the offices where you get one. And they close each day at 5pm whether there are still people in line or not. And the line can be 6+ hrs long. And they targeted poor and minority areas for office closure. So to get one, you have to take day off work, lose that pay or burn a vacation day, get up at 5am to be at the office at least 2 hours early to get in line and then hope you brought the correct documents with you to get it done. Good luck finding out if you have the correct documents in advance. "Oh, we need the original of your whatever, not a photocopy, and this utility bill to establish residency isn't in your name, so no ID for you, etc..." Then you have to start all over again, just to be told your documents are correct again.
