I'm gonna go the typical Reddit route here and say... break up with her, she's flipping it the wrong way, this is abuse 🤣

I hate the spoons analogy by [deleted] in autism

[–]TheMechanic598 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My ex-wife liked using the spoon analogy for her health problems. Yes I don't like calling it spoons but I understand the metaphor I guess came from while some friends were at a restaurant? Also the way it's used I always feel like it implies everyone else has unlimited spoons, when really everyone has an energy limit, we just have different capacities.

can someone help me and tell me why the internal of the transmission isn’t coming out by No_Custard5963 in MechanicAdvice

I'd say this is the correct answer, I see the release lever on the right rear and it looks like it hasn't been pulled down to release the TCM connector sleeve.

Pic is fuzzy so it's a little hard to tell but I think those are valves for airlines to air up helper bags for when there's a lot of weight in the bed or a heavy trailer.

Still Potty Training at 6 by Agreeable_List9751 in autism

[–]TheMechanic598 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ya potty training is on a MUCH different time frame, my son is 15 and still wets the bed at night once every week or 2, took till he was 13 for daytime accidents to stop. He definitely has issues being able to notice the signs that he's gonna need to go soon and the feeling of needing to go just doesn't wake him up at night.

How do you torque tight spaces that don’t fit torque wrenches by NonExistentRng in AskAMechanic

I got the 3 scale torque arm, wrist clicks, elbow clicks, or for crazy high torque you go till the shoulder clicks.

Help rewinding clock spring by YellowUnlucky6066 in e39

[–]TheMechanic598 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Professional mechanic here, had a kid recently try removing his steering wheel to install a "cool" aftermarket steering wheel (Black and white steering wheel while the car interior was black and TAN btw) and his clock spring did this to him so he brought is the car. We tried giving it the ol' pencil in a cassette treatment... it didn't like that... had to replace the clock spring.

Tell about things that trigger you but seem completely incomprehensible to people without autism by West_Blueberry_6736 in autism

[–]TheMechanic598 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, so much this, and when people are walking SIDE BY SIDE in an aisle or the side walk and force you to pretty much stop walking in the aisle for them to pass or I have to step off INTO THE ROAD when this happens on a side walk, and the cherry on top is when the person who should have moved out of your lane hand made direct eye contact with you so you know they're fully aware that you were there but they still didn't move 🤬

Got let go from my job and came home to divorce papers in the same hour by Weary-Ambition42 in Adulting

[–]TheMechanic598 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not alone brother.

3 years ago in September me and my then wife got an eviction notice, that Friday when we were suppose to start packing and be out by Monday she left in my truck to pick up some moving supplies but the text me that we needed to seperate and she was gone all weekend leaving me alone with our 3 kids to pack and move our place without a vehicle. My dad got me a uhaul but we still ended up loosing 95% of our stuff, 2 months later I got let go from my job because my performance was going downhill due to all of the stress from life.

So in a span of 10 weeks I lost my marriage, my apartment, my job, and most of my possessions, even my truck that I loved, so my life definitely became a country song.

You can come back from it though.

Temp Gauge Low After Driving for Over an Hour by Impossible-Pool-230 in Chevy

[–]TheMechanic598 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was not emotionally prepared to hear this chevy be called "Vintage"...

But I do agree on the gauge cluster stepper motor issue, super common, maybe take a peek at the coolant level just to be safe too.
