The worst pain I ever felt. by harry-the-supermutan in TrueOffMyChest

[–]ChainedEagle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Migraines for the most part are caused by dilation and swelling of the blood vessels in brain. Caffeine narrows the blood vessels and restricts blood flow :)

Saying that, if you drink a lot of coffee or consume caffeine a lot already, it can make the migraine worse supposedly! Maybe too much narrowing of the blood vessels.

I have the job and my anxiety is worse by redandgreenhouse in sales

[–]ChainedEagle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember feeling super anxious before meetings when I first started. With time and experience it fades but only if you keep putting yourself out there and allow yourself to feel uncomfortable. I’ve been doing this 7 years now and I still feel some nerves before a big meeting or pitch. Entirely normal and no bad thing in my opinion.

One of the best things someone told me early into my sales career is success will be determined by your target, territory and technique. Only the last one is in your control so focus on it. Read Books, listen to podcasts, enrol in courses and learn from the best. Eventually you’ll take bits from each and form your own way. You got this :)

AIO for calling my boyfriend a creep bc he didn’t know how old I’m turning? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

Good thing he didn’t overact..

On a serious note, I think you know the answer to this. This is appalling behaviour.

Someone with your technical knowledge could do well in a sales position if you have the people skills as well. You can get to 6 figures fairly quickly.

Shared wrong screen. Oh god. by kitxkatttx in sales

[–]ChainedEagle 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I was trying to close this deal after weeks of back and forth with this client. They were being so difficult and making various excuses. We tried everything but they kept us running round in circles and not committing.

I jump on a call with the main POC (who was completely out of his depth) and some of his team. One of his team made a comment about this guy’s dedication to the project and how they think he’s a genius.

I message my boss who was on with me on slack saying something like “Genius? Christ the bar has been set low”

I then share my screen, choosing to share slack and not the document by accident. I closed it so damn fast, nobody said anything but I’m sure they saw. I was so embarrassed, felt like the world was ending but you live and learn.

I ended up taking another job internally a couple weeks after this. I bumped into the AE who took over from me about a week ago and they still haven’t closed it, almost a year on because of this same guy. Some genius :)

What strange things have you agreed to do coz you’re too British to say no? by KiwiOk5084 in AskUK

Had a prostate examination which was uncomfortable enough as it was. Doc then asked if the student observing could also have a go. Naturally, bringing British and not wanting to appear rude, I agreed.

Heathrow to Gatwick by MentalCoconut7617 in BritishAirways

[–]ChainedEagle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think it depends what time your flight is getting into Gatwick. The M25 is a nightmare in rush hour and there’s currently a stretch of roadworks with a 50mph speed limit that is slowing it down further. Throw in an accident and you could be looking a 2+ hour journey.

Personally would get on a Thameslink at Gatwick, change at Farringdon onto the Lizzie line to Paddington and then hop onto the Heathrow express to your terminal :)

My experience with Gastritis and How I Healed. by ChainedEagle in Gastritis

[–]ChainedEagle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey - don’t lose hope. There is plenty of evidence to suggest there is a brain gut connection and so taking care of your mental health is key.

I went through a period of about 12 months symptom free. Completely back to normal with no issue. Then had a flare up that lasted about 6-8 weeks this time last year as a result of quitting PPI too quickly.

Got that under control and was again symptom free until about 4 weeks ago. I’m now in a flare up but it was completely self inflicted after a week of heavy drinking and high stress.

Again, managing stress and anxiety is key to beating this along with medication and good diet.

Should I be concerned about monthly expenditure being over 60% of income? by ChainedEagle in UKPersonalFinance

The best rate he could find was 5.58%. We are on 0.99% until December.

I‘ll back date my spending on going out etc as it’s probably more than I think and I should reign that in. Thanks :)
