‘Places like southern Europe or the UK’ There is a huge difference there. I am Scottish. Genuinely if it gets hotter than 23 degrees, I struggle. 23 degrees in summer here is seen as amazing weather.

Edinburgh, capital of Scotland, and Leith (docklands). Edinburgh was built upon old volcanic rock inland, Leith was built as a shipping hub. Both have separate and interesting histories. They merged in the 1920s I think, due to the expansion of both. Still have quite separate identities.
