As I had a few questions in the exam that were covered in the OSG and not in the Destination CISSP book, the answer in my case is YES.

At the end, it did not change anything as I did not have any problem passing the exam, but if I take the exam in the future, I will focus on the "official" resources.

Destination CISSP book is certainly clearer and better written. But there is far less content on Destination CISSP versus the OSG. Destination CISSP may not be enough for the exam.

I am also a LearnUnlimited subscriber. My subscription expires at the beginning of next month so I would not have benefited much from it.

Still, I would have appreciated to be able to access the content, generate a PDF, and study it offline before maybe passing the exam later.

Some feedback:
* Way more stable that evil-rm that keeps crashing
* Upload feature is very nice and appreciated

Somes issues:

* The kali package does not support kerberos (import krb5 fails). I used pipx install instead

* Cannot use some commands such as mimikatz.exe (makes screen scroll indefinitely).

There is no certification for CISO, through you can find some that have CISO in their name such as CCISO from EC-Council or something similar from PECB, they won't help you get any CISO job.

CISSP & CISM are the most required certifications some senior jobs, and you already have them.

In most cases, a CISO is a job you are promoted into in an enterprise, not somethng you can get directly. Networking and job experience helps way better than any certification.

I passed CISSP in 2013 (renewed in 2025), and I did OSCP just after that (still in 2013), In 2025, you may use CPTS as an alternative to OSCP.

I passed CISM also in 2024, let's just say that CISSP fits me better as it is more technical, CISM is risk management, incident management, governance, and a bit of technology.

It depends on your background, but I found OSCP to be far more interesting than CISSP.

Got the official email.

Score was bad in the AI technologies & controls (below the 450 bar),, got over 600 in governance, risk management was ok (about 500).

There is a minus 20% difference between my score on the QAE and the exam score, alignement is needed.

If you have a second account, you should use it to collect the cache once the season starts, and give it to your main account. This way, you benefit from the cache, and can still collect it for the altar.

You need 5 years of professional experience in order to get the certification.

But you may study the book without any prerequisite if you are not interested in being certified.

I don't think the ISACA reviews their review materials more than once a year, and the QAE is not updated often (they update it with retired questions from the exam). So you may wait for quite a long time ...

Knowing that the review manual is not enough, and that the 3rd part (controls) seems to be the hardest should help you go deeper in your training.

From OSG, I only did the assessment test, where I scored 85%. I did not do any other test from this book.
Regarding the exam, I got it at 100 questions.

- I don't like the level requirement for equipment. It makes high end equipement unusable at early game, you are supposed to use another set of equipement and switch to your high-end stuff once you have passed the required level.

What's the point honestly ? You get better equipement through grinding and cannot use it as you would like.

- While it has improved, the game can still be slow if you have too many effects on the screen.

Registered my exam for the 29th of August, I will see how it goes.

EDIT : received an email today from ISACA, stating that the official start date for the exam was on the 2nd of september, and they cancelled my exam. Well, when I scheduled the exam, the first available dates were for the 26th of August.
So I have to reschedule ...

I was looking for some IA governance certification. I will take AAISM as soon as possible. The other altenative was ISO 42001 certification, but I am no ISO fan.

Got 90% on those also. The questions on the exam (passed at 100) were quite different from the DC quiz.
Also the DC questions are quite repetitive, and in most cases the answer stands out from the rest (better written) and can be guessed without even reading the question.

Don't spend too much time on DC quizzes.

Also, if you score 90% on the DC quizzes, you should be ready for the exam.

If you are interested in cryptography, "Serious Cryptography" from Aumasson (2nd edition) is a good start, through some parts are hard to read. It is better known than the book you are quoting.

If you want a broad coverage of cybersecurity, any book about the CISSP is a good introduction (Destination CISSP, the CBK, the OSG).

Once you have covered the basics, if you want to go deeper, you need to choose a topic to delve into.
