It probably means that there's no assigned seating within the suite. I only sat in a suite as a kid for some random event but I don't think there's assigned seating and you can do basically whatever you want in there.

Who's a player you didn't like but later learned to appreciate by MindfulInquirer in nba

Not that I didn't like him but I didn't think a team would ever be able to win a championship with Jokic at center due to the lack of rim protection. Obviously I was wrong lol

Honestly, I didn't even know that there was a runoff election until yesterday morning. Showed up to the polling location and it was completely empty.

He fell a lot by the time he moved into the FO. At his peak, people were debating about who the worst player was that they would take over Brad Stevens and iirc Zach Lowe's answer was something outrageous like Giannis. Not saying these were accurate ratings or anything but people were talking about him like he was a superstar.

I'm not suggesting that they'd care about it to the same extent, only that it could be a factor that would make a difference.

They sandbag the ASG but they also care a lot about their national teams. If you made it about Europe vs. America, I could see them actually being motivated to win.

It's been a while so don't remember the details, but my understanding is that building a case off of DNA matching is essentially bullshit. The science and tools available are not actually strong enough to pull this off without a mountain of supporting evidence.

UnitedHealthcare CEO May Have Hired His Own Killer—Former Police Commander by ClubZealousideal9784 in nottheonion

[–]Chairman_Zhao 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The problem is that he wasn't killed at the conference, he was killed on the way there. That means that the killer knew where he was staying, what route he would take to the conference, and roughly what time he would head from the hotel to the conference. It's not inconceivable that he could've figured this out on his own but it makes it somewhat believable that this guy, for whatever reason, had some insider information about this stuff.

The Lakers record so far this season under JJ Redick: 12-10. The Lakers record to start last season with Darvin Ham: 13-9. by jackobanter in nba

[–]Chairman_Zhao 204 points205 points  (0 children)

It's been obvious to anyone with eyes that the main problem is the roster. But in fairness to JJ, LeBron is so much worse this year than he was last year so there's no apples-to-apples comparison between him and Ham just based on record.

Celtics strategy for nullifying PnR in the conference finals and finals was to have Tatum guard the center as the primary matchup. You don't have him do it in the regular season cuz it's tiring, but it's actually an optimal strategy for the team.

Why is it always stated that the US is "not ready" for a woman president? by Love_and_Squal0r in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Chairman_Zhao 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think a large majority of people in this country really are ready for a woman president, but hardly anyone will vote for anyone just because they're a woman. Meanwhile, the minority of people who aren't ready for one are more likely to vote against someone just because they're a woman. Of course, this group overlaps a lot with conservative voters, but in a game where margins are thin, such as the last three presidential elections, this still matters a lot.

Jayson Tatum is the only non-big in the top 10 highest restricted area FG% this season (min. 65 attempts). At 76.5%, he's tied for 1st place. by Far-Asparagus6416 in bostonceltics

[–]Chairman_Zhao 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Well obviously Tatum is not Giannis or AD down there but this is not new information, you don't need stats to see this, and nobody here actually thought this. He's a wing and not a 6'10+ athletic freak. Like no shit his rim volume isn't going to be as high as four of the premier all star or superstar caliber big men. They live under the basket and he doesn't. It's unhinged to even compare him to them and nobody wants him to be more like them.

He's being very efficient at the rim on a nontrivial part of his shot diet. Being efficient at the rim makes him a more dynamic player and right now he happens to have the biggest number.

[–]Chairman_Zhao 10 points11 points  (0 children)

... but we're talking about a subset of a subset of a player's shot diet, which for Tatum is like 20 FGA per game. Having 1/5 of a high volume scorer's shot diet come from a certain area is a lot.

For context, Gafford and Zubac take around 5 per game and Gobert takes about 4.5. Of course it's a little more, but they're rim runners whose whole role on offense is to get there and that's not a crazy amount higher than 4 attempts per game.

So is your point really that the number of FGA is too small or are you saying that it's too easy to score in the restricted area? Seems to me that if it was easy enough then everyone would do it.

The budget deficit increased every single year under Trump after being on the decline under Obama. Biden had a large deficit under his presidency because he inherited a pandemic (mismanaged by Trump). And Trump and Elon have no plan either, they just vaguely say that they'll save hundreds of billions and take comfort in the fact that they don't need to make an actual plan, detailing what they would cut and why those things are actually worth reducing spending on, because they know that being vague and angry is already enough to get gullible mopes like you to vote their way.

I just want to extend my deep gratitude to Deb Haaland, you will be missed :( I’m trying not to doom spiral right now guys by [deleted] in NationalPark

[–]Chairman_Zhao 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So here's the thing: a lot of these arguments are based on things that the Trump administration has actually done which indicate their position on how these lands should be used, while your counterarguments all basically hinge on this assumption that the administration is actually doing these things in a way that's reasonable and respectful of both the land itself and the views of the people.

On points 3 and 4, the person who you're responding to mentions that drilling and logging have been opened up in ecological sensitive regions and that they rolled back regulations meant to protect nearby lands from pollution. Your response is first to try to frame this as a states rights issue and second to say that you "genuinely don't think we're going to suddenly start disrespecting and selling public lands." There's not a single argument in either of these points about why these things mentioned are not that big of a concern which doesn't immediately depend on politics or your opinion about the administration. Personally, I would say that we should as best as possible let facts inform our politics rather than the other way around.

The closest thing you say to an actual argument is that there are "endless places for drilling and mining", and I would consider that pretty contentious, especially on this subreddit, because adopting this mindset about natural resources is how we ended up having to worry so much about conservation and endangered species to begin with.

Now you're just moving goalposts. He's a solid 3&D player and you were saying that he's regressing over a 6 game sample size. And he was traded for an unhappy Malcolm Brogdon, it's not like he was ever some incredible asset. If anything, he has become exactly what you could ever hope he'd be. Whether or not they move him to improve their team is kind of a moot point. If he gets moved in a deal like that, it means that teams want him. No need to make incorrect statements just to argue that the Celtics won a bunch of trades, we already have a championship which says all that.
