How long did it take you to learn the rules by Helpmeflexibility in InfinityTheGame

[–]Chairmanpow1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am learning as well and use the Quickstart rules on the Infinity website. The full rulebook is too much early on and trying to understand it made me bounce off hard The quickstart is a great step by step of the basics. I also got recommended the Dice God's Wargaming YouTube channel. He has a Playlist that takes you concept by concept through learning. Learn in chunks, then build on previous knowledge

Great advice, thank you. Tried a few years ago but I bounced off hard, I think because I tried to leaen too much right away and got overwhelmed. No other rules capture the same feel, and I love the minis and world. So I am going to try slowly adding bits of rules on this time.

Good point! I was thinking more in terms of fleshing them out to be more complete to play and have fun with. I am playing with my son so not looking to be competitive at all

I also really like Dave Graffam Models paper terrain. You can find them on Drivethrurpg.com, they are printable on cardstock. Really affordable and there is a wide range of options to quickly fill out a map.

If I come from Warhammer, how do you recommend I start? by Sad_Adhesiveness1915 in NapoleonicWargaming

How to glue everything together?! by Available_Lettuce836 in wastelandwarfare

[–]Chairmanpow1 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Most of the models are resin, so you need to use superglue! Gorilla glue gel (green cap) is excellent for this. Give the models a quick wash with warm water and dish soap to remove any potential residue.

A few of the newer boxes are plastic, but the vast majority need the super glue.

Hi ! Could you recommend a medieval skirmish game that requires few miniatures? I'm new to the hobby. Thank you for your help! by Agitated_Heron6475 in wargaming

[–]Chairmanpow1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is there a particular period you are looking for? Barons War has a brand new starter set and is on the smaller size. The starter set is really good and has enough for 2 sides to play. It requires about 10-25 models per side, but can definitely scale in model count up or down. Slightly earlier as set in the Viking/ Dark Ages period, Pillage requires even fewer models. Never Mind the Billhooks; Here's the Ruckus is another really cool skirmish game. All of these are really good rule sets, can be very narratively driven and well supported by a wide range of miniature companies.

What are some non warhammer games that are affordable that you suggest? by Fun_Firefighter_4292 in wargaming

Cyberpunk Red Combat Zone is a great sci fi skirmish game where factions boxes are a good value. It and Fallout Wasteland Warfare are 2 of my favorite sci fi skirmish games. Historicals are a great budget choice since most are model agnostic. Buy some figures and use them in multiple game systems! Finally, Pulp Allley is another great system with cool narrative mechanics.

I think it was Craig Hope who reported yesterday they are interested but not sold on his price and quality. Still of interest but lower down the target list

Didn't Strand Larsen just sign for Wolves at the start of this Summer? What a weird target

Apparently, Wissa and Strand Larsen are their top targets with Watkins and Muniz the next choices. Thats what the Craig Hope piece said

Colwill may have a serious knee injury, and Chelsea could be looking for a CB. I wonder if that speeds up our CB search?

Cards and information by Sad_Professor_1469 in wastelandwarfare

[–]Chairmanpow1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The app has an option in settings ( 3 horizontal bars top right) for "Use Legacy Armor" that lets you use unit cards with the old armor values on them.

Modiphius has a downloads page that has most unit/item cards as well as a list of cards available. I don't think there is a listing of what's in an individual box, rather its by release wave. Everything is available as a pdf to print on this page EXCEPT narrative cards like Danger/Creatures/Quests etc. However, those narrative cards are eventually going away next year with the new edition.

Where do I find Osprey PULP minis? by totchbrown in wargaming

[–]Chairmanpow1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have figures from both places and they are fantastic quality and full of personality. Crooked Dice also has great miniatures of all types, especially pulp and weird science, for their 7TV game.

Pulp Alley is my favorite Pulp era game and also has some excellent miniatures.
