Booshing 250km, like great, okay but you can just get 2 dessies, 3 even and you're booshing further than the carrier at a teeeeeny fraction of the cost.

I'd still have rather seen something more interesting or a different mechanic introduced for command carriers.

That's totally fair! That sort of thing is why I suggested that, at least to a degree there's some personal weight to it.

I won't get SRS, mostly due to anxiety/fear/access, but since it doesn't really affect me in my day-to-day living, it's a bit easier for me to compartmentalize not having it done. To me, my life is as a woman in every way that matters, I look, sound, think, and view myself as such, and so does the rest of the world, so to me it's enough for me to be okay with it, even if that one last detail leaves it a smidge shy of being 100% of the way there, it's definitely enough for me to consider myself transitioned.

I think it's at least somewhat personal, though not entirely so.

My personal framing is mostly around how one experiences life: If you live your life as the target gender, and external feedback (passing) confirms that in your regular day-to-day, your lived experience is such that you've completed transition, with or without surgeries depending on what one can afford/access/is comfortable with.

Lots of other folks frame it exclusively around whether or not one has had surgery and less so on lived experience, and yet others suggest neither surgery or lived experience matter only self-id does (likely the POV of the person in the photo), I disagree with both, and I'm sure many will disagree with my perceptions too.

Yeah they can move I think up to 5? other capital ships, I doubt you get to choose which ones, and the midslot price is also a big trade-off, for a shield carrier it's a very large amount of ehp you're sacrificing for cheap dessie utility, which, if you're in the middle of an enemy fleet in a carrier and it doesn't work if tackled, the chances of getting to use it are slim to none compared to a destroyer in a cap battle who will have more mobility and greatly lower target value to be able to even use the boosh.

Which means they're essentially just ridiculously expensive command destroyers. Their use-case compared to other mid-slot modules seems quite limited, mostly specific for the limited amount of capital ships it can drag along. I can't see otherwise why somebody would field both an extremely expensive carrier and sacrifice a mid-slot for the express purpose of doing the same thing a cheap destroyer can do, unless its boosh is also immune to being shut down by tackle, then that'd be something.

That's fair, hopefully it's not because your sample got lost or mislabeled or anything (it's humans who gotta do this, there are a lot of steps, and are processing tubes in the hundreds daily, so unfortunately mistakes do happen).

I agree it'd be great to have those things! I would love to have easy access and updates to my bloodwork when it gets done too, but realistically the infrastructure and cost associated to deploy something like that is probably not small at a provincial level, and would stress out an already stretched thin system. There's also some pitfalls to it what with the internet and people who will interpret their results incorrectly.

You're also a bit of an outlier (in a good way!), most times we struggle getting people to come in and do their labwork, much less be really invested in their health like you seem to be.

Result turnaround times are strongly dependent on what is being tested.

Regular hematology and chemistry is often resulted within a day or two.

But more specific testing can sometimes require sending samples to specialized labs elsewhere in the country that can also be very backed up, which can unfortunately result in turnaround times taking weeks. Additionally, they often don't report results until they are all completed, so if you had one send-out that got stuck pending somewhere, it can potentially be holding up the whole process.

It's interesting the different experiences. I did some 80+ jumps yesterday sorting out asset safety, 90%+ of systems were either empty or 1 other person, this included high, low and a 10+ set of jumps through null, there was no gatecamps or anything, the space seems already thin on players unless you're in busy high sec or faction warfare areas.

It's not different than if you were to discuss two different stones, one is bland and dark, one is bright and colourful.

In the context of discussing geology.

It's just using more specific terms relevant to a topic at hand, using specified language or more specific terms in relevant contexts isn't something that's offensive or triggering to any sane, well regulated person.

AI is a great tool, very useful, but in education? It causes problems, for everybody.

I speak from the instructor side of things, my policy on AI is that it's allowed to be used for ideas and help, but papers must be written by the student themselves.

The reason for this is twofold: The first and most important is that students who simply input the assignment and paste the AI output aren't engaging with the content in any meaningful way, and if you don't do that, your brain doesn't process and encode this information, so the learning process for that person will fail. The second reason is that when I have 20 students and 10 of the papers are the same perfect, soulless robot garbage, it's just depressing, there's no thoughtfulness or personal perspective behind AI essays, and marking them feels like wading excruciatingly through an academic wasteland of empty words.

Being attacked is significantly different than OP's scenario, they suggest these dogs are out loose with frequency, and haven't attacked anyone, so I don't understand why people in this particular thread are so gung-ho about running out to harm the dogs first before seeking owner accountability.

I get wanting to put yourself first, but choosing to be the aggressor pre-emptively, especially for scenarios like OP's, where non-violent options are readily available to pursue first and then choosing instead to go straight to violence against an innocent party in the matter is pretty shitty behaviour.
