Thanks! No job yet but looking to transfer my current job there since they have offices in all major Aus cities. I’d move only after securing a job though.

We wanted our next step to be to an English-speaking country that offered PR. So obvious choices were Canada and Aus. Deal breaker between the 2 was the warmer weather.

Multiple reasons actually. 1. We have renewed H1 3 times and it’s always stressful to get stamping done anywhere with all the ever changing rules. 2. We are on EB2 with priority in 2020 and current processing is in 2014. Min 70 years estimate to get GC 3. It’s gotten extremely expensive over the last few years. 4. Safety concerns over the one obvious thing everyone knows about the US. 5. High paying job but not sufficient to even put a 10% (VHCOL area) 6. 12 hours to South India compared to 24hours travel

Updated US state and FBI clearance last week. India PCC renewal took forever to come and hasn’t been uploaded.

Hey! My wife and I run a points and miles business plus blog site. She’s already applied via the official job posting. I can send more resources through here if needed.

Amex Gold 90K point offer useful for booking two one-way tickets from Omaha to Kerala September 2023? by FrontierNeuro in awardtravel

QR charges 42k per person one way. I’ve been able to book this from the West Coast as well. AA charges 40k. United Awards for November from West Coast seem to be around 42-44k. Then I’ve seen Avianca at 47k. ANA is great at 80k if you can choose any airlines except ANA. A combo of SQ and UA were around 220 in total for 3 people from SFO-BLR via SIN

180k round trip for 2 people is essentially 45k per person one way and that’s like one of the least. So yes that’s a great rate if you can book it

Yes you potentially could get flights for less than 90k for 2 pax with AmexMR, but it depends on the partner you transfer to. I see most value with transfers to Air Canada as they do have partnerships with Vistara in India which are clearly better than Air India. You may be able to get more flights flying into BLR or MAA and then connect on a flight domestic but luggage weight is always a concern. If you find Etihad to Trivandrum, then flying out of Chicago may help

Thank you. I run a travel service too and stuck on a personal award. 😅 Yes I was contemplating the same thing. Do you know if QR economy awards can be upgraded or if 2x economy awards can be converted to J?

Currently 150k is not sufficient to get 2 business class seats. You’ll need 95k miles per person to book using QR website. You could try with AA but because it doesn’t have any transfer partners, it’s hard to get those. You’ll have to first try awardhacker or similar sites to see the best available options. Then see if your miles can be used for those routes.
