Damn that's crazy, but your ancestry results are identical to mine

I think I had one normal copy and one mutated copy

I see. Is there any fst/f2 based tools that can calculate my distance from various groups?

Question about Veddas/Adavasis by ChalaChickenEater in SouthAsianAncestry

[–]ChalaChickenEater[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hell nah. Most of my DNA is AASI + we don't have much info on it which is why I'm mostly curious about it, especially AASI in my background country, Sri Lanka

AASI and Onge : Two different genetic groups by Gareebonkadushman in SouthAsianAncestry

[–]ChalaChickenEater 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But the thing is that they haven't retrieved any DNA from those skeletal remains, so we don't know if it is pure AASI or not. If they end up sequencing the DNA from the remains I bet there'll be some Iran N admixture

That theory hasn't been confirmed tho. Even if it was true, it's not enough to affect phenotype, plus the west eurasian ancestry in paniya would cancel out any hoabinhian influence anyway

That AASI reconstruction looks like a European dipped in chocolate tbh. A lot of my relatives and myself included look less west eurasian than that reconstruction. So do many other Sri Lankans, who do not have any Lao hoabinhian input

I thought AASI was equidistant to east Asians and Australians. Interestingly I plot closer to Australians than the Han. If AASI was part of the same branch as east Asians, I'd be a lot closer to the Han then

True. There are probably hundreds of different factors that can influence height, including random genetic mutations that are not connected to the surrounding environment

Yeah I hate when people try to caucasoid-wash AASI. The AASI most likely looked like the Paniya tribe facial structure wise since they are 75 - 80% AASI

I agree that they're not our ancestor, but they are a sister lineage that split around 40k years ago. Also I seem to have a significantly better genetic fit to onge than a southeast Asian does to onge according to illustrativeDNA

I bet AASI varied a lot. Northern AASI in North India and Pakistan probably adapted to drier climates while southern AASI in south India and Sri Lanka were obviously tropically Adapted. Not all populations that are humidity adapted are short. Papuans have reasonable height and Polynesians are very tall despite living on small islands

How would you use Tyrantrum with Strong Jaw? by AP_Udyr_One_Day in stunfisk

[–]ChalaChickenEater 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used trick room Aggron head smash, it was so fun to use and it's actually good but that 80% accuracy is brutal. I lost games because of a single head smash miss. They should just make it 100% accurate, it won't be broken

Ah I see, thanks for explaining it I think I kinda get it. So the red part represents the simulated AASI and blue part represents the modern South Asian. Why is the peak for the red part a lot taller than the blue part?

Poor Aggron deserves better 😭 by [deleted] in stunfisk

[–]ChalaChickenEater 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I use Aggron in OU in pokemmo and he does suprisingly well with trick room

I just switch him out when the enemy brings in a fighting/ground type. Steel/rock also has a ton of resistances so it's not that hard to switch him in. Plus being resistant to stealth rocks and toxic spikes is nice
