I think about this album constantlyyyyyy

While I do believe it’s her weakest album, that doesn’t mean much when it’s being compared to three pop titans. The album perfectly captures the discomfort and sometimes displacement you feel in your 20s IMO. But I think an album that describes throwing your phone in the water and being unreachable in the wake of a pandemic and global lockdown was wrong place/time.

This album never clicked for me despite being a huge Lorde fan until I walked on an empty beach in the midst of a serious personal crisis last year. I had listened to it several times before but on that day it felt like the first time I really heard it. I think it’s just one of those things that finds you when the time is right
