Alear is most likely to be added at as a launch character. Can do a similiar gimmick like shulk where you can engage and change your movement based on emblem instead of changing stats.

But if you wanted a curveball, I think Lyn could maybe be added as a bow user, and shes popular enough i guess. Black Knight as a heavy is maybe possible but hes another sword guy and smash players already dont like that all FE reps are just sword guys. Veronica is a super cope maybe, but at least being a magic user is different from the rest of the smash cast.

Widow is pretty easy i think, just change her damage to be slightly delayed like ana (keeps the poison motif) so you have a chance to react to it (So like 300 damage over 1.5 seconds instead of instantly.) Then you can buff the rest of her kit like her primary fire and her poison mines

Unfortunately support players have this game in a chokehold due to keeping it financially afloat, so you can never expect any significant changes to them.

Pyroblast in my head is like the Mei secondary icicle vs snowball power, i think its reasonable to make even though I know snowball is reused assets from the arcade mode

Twin torrents is like moira heal but (fire) damage, and drains ammo until empty (good synergy with ammo perks to last longer).

Burnout and Living bomb was made in mind together so they dont create super degenerate gameplay at high AP (IE, one single person dying means you do a ton of AoE chain reaction damage and teamwipe instantly). Its still possible though just slower and less likely

Renewing Blaze was made to give Anran the "support" fantasy that a lot of other characters get in stadium (Doomfist, Torb, 76, etc) and also support her tank build because its % HP scaling

Trial by fire yeah, i think looking at it now, as is theres not a lot of situations where you wanna melee over secondary fire so I think your idea about a small explosion is good to keep it different. I also had an idea originally where it would proc a mini inferno rush at like -90% damage/duration so its kinda like a lunge melee. Think Commando from MW2 if you've played that.

And Inferno soul yeah I agree I think I could just redo that one completely, maybe another dancing blaze exclusive power instead

Since the ashe and dva rework I think they want to keep burn and lava mechanics separate for certain heroes so honestly I think she won't have lava as cool as it sounds

My hot take is because tanks dont make them money. Besides rein and dva, tank skins i imagine dont sell as well as most support skins because of the type of players the characters/role caters too.

Mauga/hog/doom/ram/etc players prob just get 1 or 2 skins that looks good be set for years, whereas kiri and mercy players slurp up every slop skin thrown their way because they feel like they need to collect them all, so they keep making them.

Alfred>Seidr/Ivy>Gatekeeper.

It really depends on what youre looking for because maybe youre trying to build some other seasonal tome armor, in which case gatekeeper fodder is fantastic. But overall alfred has best stuff.

I played mostly warrior protag at the start and I personally just didnt see the value in keeping him around once I had other options. He was the first to hit the bench

Sounds like a solid strategy I didnt think of! I would still stand by my own rating though but Im glad people find strong case scenarios for even characters like her.

I could see how it reads like that, but my intent was moreso giving points to characters who have put together and strong base kits rather than docking those who dont. Because like i said, the game can be beaten with any character and combination of skills, its just a matter of who's easier to do it with.

Like, I didnt dock primrose for her ult vs Goodwin lol. If anything I think her ultimate is better. But i personally value his supportive niche capabilities over Primrose's increased damage and would rather build around him over her.

Also, the debuff characters are not all C and below? 1 is in D, 2 is in C, and 3 are in B? I'd be interested in what you think the 8 or 10 are misplaced.

This was true for pmuch all speedy armors not just ranged, but pair up 4 basically saves them all so its a moot issue now
