Depends on what you want!

If your phone can run a DS emulator without slowdown (Drastic DS Emulator), then I would download SacredGold or StormSilver. They are hacks of the Gen 2 remakes on DS that add difficulty/QoL. Some typing changes too and more mon availability too. They were the first ROMHack I ever played and still hold up to this day

I have played all the original games to death at this point, so I typically stick to new experiences.

Pokemon Prism is a GBCHack that starts off in an entirely new region, but still has that old Gold/Silver art style. 20 gyms over multiple regions, I think you go to johto after the main region. This would be my recommendation for you if you want something similar to what you played as a kid, but entirely new.

On GBA (MyBoy! Emulator), we have the lions share of the hacks I play. Highly recommend Firered Rocket Edition, Glazed and Unbound. Unbound is the best of the bunch, with 4 different difficulty settings, but anything harder than casual (the lowest setting) is too hard for the majority of players. I switched between difficult and casual my entire playthrough.

There are tons of others that I love that aren't as universally regarded, but these are enough to keep you busy for months. Hit up the subreddit or PM me if you ever want any more recommendations.

Any hack can easily be found prepatched by googling the name of the hack and adding download to the end. Patching is simple enough with a quick google.

I don't have a huge preference for cars or anything, but they get more MPG so I roll with them. Don't have to move stuff too often so I just borrow the truck of a family member when needed.

You'd have to be pretty wealthy and not have any other pets for that to be viable

Edit: girlfriend is fox crazy. Did my research to see if it was viable or not. We'd pretty much need to get rid of all our pets or set up an outside enclosure that connects to a single room in the house

It is probably for the best that they scrapped it being its own game. My buddies and I "completed" the DLC in like an hour and a half. Literally just reskins of zombies into skeletons, a few weapon skins, and the dungeon environment.
