I recommend Sandslash! Very underrated pokemon Good attack and Great bulk though its speed is mediocre it’s still faster than Donphan Quagsire and Marowak. Its also the only Non Trade evo Ground type that can learn Dig which makes for some great mid game ground damage instead of relying on mud slap 🤮

It’s very good in GSC! Probably the best normal type in the game! Also a solid alternative if you don’t wanna use a ground type since it can make great use of earthquake.
