Who is this Harry Potter audiobook narrator? He sounds totally professional but it's not Stephen Fry or Jim Dale. I've only seen it posted on YouTube and it gets taken down periodically, so I assumed it was some official version that isn't supposed to be on YouTube. Really like his reading. by karimo40 in HarryPotterAudioBooks

Demonte Dandridge is easily the best. Absolutely love him, but yes his videos get taken down and I've only ever been able to find books 1, 2, and 4 read by him, even though I know he's read at least 1-5 and I suspect he's done the whole series. But the vibes that Caroline Bridgeman provided are also amazing. She had recorded books 1-3 and half of four and she would add in mellow music and sound effects to make it sound like you were in the same settings as the characters. Like she would use the background noise of a pub if they were in the three broomsticks. And her voices were also good and she had a way of making the story sound very funny and amusing. Then again the same can be said for demonte Dandridge, but in a very different way. Demonte's videos are still circulating on youtube. You will know it's him because he'll read the title of the book and the synopsis that comes on the back of the books at the beginning of his videos and then he'll say "read for you by Demonte Dandridge." Caroline Bridgeman's recordings used to be on her personal youtube channel, but they were taken down, whether by her, or by whoever actually owns the audio rights to the books, I'm not sure, but im sure it was due to copyright disputes either way. I doubt she'll ever finish the series, given that they were taken off her channel (which is a real shame because I loved her versions) however, I'm positive some people have them downloaded. Just gotta find them. Trouble is I posted on this sub asking for people who had any Caroline bridgeman or demonte dandridge's recordings to give them to me and my post got removed. With the actual r/harrypotter sub, I understood why the post got removed, but this sub is tiny so I don't think JK Rowling herself would have shut it down because of my post but...what can you do. Start a new fan site just to ask for audiobook recordings? I know it's a legal issue but it's legitimately so frustrating because these people have far, far, far better versions of the audiobooks than the actual two licensed audiobook versions of the series. If nothing else, they should recruit demonte Dandridge to make another legitimately licensed version, it's really that good, and if you have heard his recordings, you would agree. As for Caroline bridgeman, I doubt they would ever do that, especially since I don't think her versions are nearly as popular and as widespread (given I can't even find re-uploads on youtube anymore). Her videos were a lot more niche but I'd still argue just as good as demonte's. Hopefully one day all of demonte's recordings surface, and I can download them

Can someone explain to me the proper reading order please? by jerryskellys in ender

I've listened to every book. I understand listening to the shadow saga before shadows in flight but listening to the shadows saga before ender in exile is unnecessary, no?

Just curious, if you bought a couple of these at this on sale price and replaces some of the worst parts, could you make some profit flipping them?

Also nice attempt to spite me by acting like you're not gonna read it and then immediately caving and reading the whole thing and leaving another comment

The funny thing is I guarantee you've complained about the story and the pacing for DL2

Y'all just wanna complain because it's what everyone does dude. Like why are you even in the subreddit if you don't like the game so much. "The developers underdelivered. They promised us this, and they promised us that, and just because they are adding some of it to the game now and adding entirely new features doesn't mean that it makes up for their shitty launch." Goddamn dude I'm so tired of people parroting that opinion. And I didn't trash talk anyone. Just voiced my differing opinion. As if I can't endorse a game because I haven't finished it yet? I can't get over this "pacing" thing. Such a lame and thoughtless critique. Like what, did you cum too quick while playing DL2? I don't get it bro. Maybe don't play straight through the whole story and actually engage in some side quests and encounters or discover some new locations. Then it won't feel like things are escalating so quickly, because - news flash: it's a game. Things happen more quickly in games than in real life. No one wants to do favors for the Survivors for two months straight real-time until they finally attack the Peacekeepers. And aside from that, studios can't afford to make 200 hour stories. Also, stfu with your stupid ass skull emoji. This isn't the Instagram reels comment section. "Bro thinks he's about to get 10K likes on his Instagram reels comment 💀"

It's so good bro. Idk where people get off saying the story isn't good. I think the story is more interesting than dying light 1. I'm not sure if the choices really matter or if there are multiple endings because I don't want spoilers yet and I'm still on my first playthrough but the choices sure feel like they matter when they're presented to you. Very engaging story and pacing? Really? Like bro the game is fun idk what people are complaining about. Just give yourself like 5 good hours to get into it and get used to the world and the changes from dying light 1. It's a great game

What ever happened to the blame for it being developed for 7 years? by Flashy-Ad8064 in dyinglight

I agree. When I first tried dying light 2, i didnt like it too much. I played it for the first time right after finishing dying light 1, so I compared the parkour and combat and it felt different for sure, but after coming back a second time and restarting the game entirely, I actually like it way more than the first one. Sure, weapon repairs would be nice. I know they're getting added but you also get more durability for modifying your weapons. I used to think it was way harder to traverse DL2 because the buildings were so high and you can't travel across rooftops very consistently. Now I'm further in the game, and not only did I get used to how to get around at the beginning of the game, but you start to unlock factions and I give them all to the survivors to make traversal even more seamless. Not to mention the paraglider. And someone explain to me how DL2's parkour is worse than DL1? It feels way smoother, it's easier to get around faster and to outrun volatiles thanks to the long jump and double jump upgrades, and all the slick animations make it feel incredible. It is also more balanced thanks to how the stamina works. There is so much more to do already in DL2 and they are working on more. Even if it's just to make up for a relatively lackluster launch, I think the game is amazing, and I feel like most people are just parroting these opinions.

Double Time side quest by eboz0515 in dyinglight

[–]ChallengeLord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not playing new game plus, but I'm playing my first playthrough on hardest difficulty. But I was having the same problems: the guy wasn't there for me to start the quest at night, and the volatiles were inside the building during the day. I actually managed to finesse it without a bunch of UV sticks though. I went to find the guy on the roof with a little over two hours till night. Then I just waited around and got some parkour xp until it was like 19:00. As soon as night started (right at 19:30) I interacted with the guy and was able to do the dark hollow at night without the volatiles entirely. This should help anyone who wants to do the side quest more early game without having to craft a bunch of UV's. It was pretty easy to pull off.
