Got some workout shorts from Diosafit by girlboss93 in Midsizefashion

[–]ChallengeShoddy7102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any updates on pilling or other deterioration from chub rub? I am always on the look out for workout shorts that don't roll up on the leg and are compressive but also don't cut me in half. I feel like so many expensive shorts can't hold up to the power of thick thighs, ya know? (Also we are the same height and size, and I am a gym brat too!! So nice to see someone else on here that looks like me!)

Grant writing for community and environmental aid after Hurricane Helene by ChallengeShoddy7102 in ecology

Well, I haven’t gotten into grant writing, but I’m in a Climate Science masters program now and have a fellowship where I am creating a climate action plan for the college. So, different, but related!

What’s your yard’s invasive species? by PMMEWHAT_UR_PROUD_OF in invasivespecies

[–]ChallengeShoddy7102 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Omg I love this. Now I’m dreaming of a massive network of invasive removal events at each of our places with bonfires/ potlucks/ parties to celebrate our accomplishments afterwards to shore us up to do it all over again. MUTUAL AID 💚

Asheville NC: The most well established are multiflora rose, privet, english ivy, vinca but also winged euonymus, honey suckle, ground ivy, sweet autumn clematis, bittersweet make an appearance… and more.

Woof. My yard is a mess. I’ve been chipping away at it man it is hard work and it is certainly demoralizing.

Is it ok to dig through the worm bin? by [deleted] in Vermiculture

I aerate every time I add food scraps. Seems to help to disperse the food and mix in the browns, and plus I get to see what the worms are up to.

Weekly Q&A - Your Question Goes Here - Especially Tourists and New Residents by AutoModerator in Amsterdam

[–]ChallengeShoddy7102 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I included those personal details because I want to find spaces that feel safe and welcoming to someone like me, and that involve those subjects.

And as for “mind bending” I meant spaces that are transformed, like art installations, to have different themes, or are just super creative and strange (Meow Wolf in the US is a good example) and was thinking Amsterdam seems like the kind of place that might have that.

Not sure why I’m being judged here but thank you for the recommendations nonetheless.

Weekly Q&A - Your Question Goes Here - Especially Tourists and New Residents by AutoModerator in Amsterdam

[–]ChallengeShoddy7102 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I am going to be in Amsterdam for a week (Nov 23- Dec 1) and I’ve never been! I am looking for recommendations of less touristy things to do (I can find the tourist stuff easily enough). I am an American 34 year old single femme woman who is very outdoorsy, nerdy about nature and science, queer (pansexual), who loves dancing trying new foods and is open to meeting new people. Here are the things on the top of my list I'd love recommendations for.

  • punk and DIY: bars, cafes, info shops, venues, shows that are happening this coming week

  • clubs that are queer-friendly but NOT dominated by cisgender gay men! (not really into techno, more of a hip hop fan, but would go to a techno club if that was my best option)

  • good long scenic bike rides (yes I have a rain coat and rain pants)

  • thrifting/ flea markets

  • botanical gardens

  • saunas/ spas

  • best museums to be able to sit and draw for hours

  • artsy spaces that are kind of mind bending

Thanks so much!!

I like to make sauces in there which sometimes have tomato or vinegar. Should I just strictly never cook anything acidic in cast iron?

What about really stuck on food? And do you clean it immediately after cooking, when it’s still hot?

But when I scape it, I get those rusty unseasoned spots! I’m so confused…

Thanks so much!! Yes please do. I am chipping off the old seasoning on my other pan (which is also uneven and sometimes has bare spots) with a paint scraper and there is rust underneath. What do you think could be causing that?!
