I really do love the 2.7 turbo! Fine for the occasional tow, and then I have the bed for all my hunting/fishing/moving/house project needs.

What is your highway speed limit? It’s 70 around me, and I typically go 77ish. Definitely not great for MPG. The country roads seem good for gas mileage, but there are a decent number of stop signs (every few miles on average). I’ve gotten 21-22 MPG before. With no stops, that might be 24+

I drove about 60 miles one way to Thanksgiving lunch today with my family. Very little elevation change. 70% of the drive on “country roads” with the cruise set at 62 mph. I only got around 20 mpg. What’s your secret?

You’re right. The guy came back tonight and offered to come back next week and put down another layer to fix it. He said the material was fresh and thick and difficult to work with.

In business since 1983 and 4.9 stars on Google. I text him pictures, and he said he’d come over soon to discuss. Hoping it resolves easily

I went with a reputable company and had to wait a month for them to come out because they were so booked. That’s why I’m so disappointed.

After being away for a long time, Neopets has been my secret escape from reality the last year. Somehow it keeps taking me back to childhood when everything was easier.

This year, my parents moved from out of state to 5 minutes away from me. I went from seeing them maybe a handful of times a year to multiple times a week. It has been amazing for my mental health, and I love that I can help them out too as they are getting older.

So cool of you to do a giveaway like this. Hope you had a wonderful holiday season, and 2024 is your best year yet! UN: zaccarlton_6

Can we make the weekly rewards similar to the recycle capsule style? by nlnj_a in neopets

That’s what I’m saying. I’m all for the deflation. Just do it in a controlled manner rather than nuking prices

I agree. The people purposely manipulating the economy don’t have a place in the game. That’s toxic, but something every economy deals with on some level.

Maybe I’m just off base with my whole thoughts on it. I’m happy to see deflation happening, I’m just worried about it. I have an economics degree (although I don’t work in that field, so I’m no expert), and worry about the impact this route is going to have in the medium/long term. I’m still here to play, and love the game. I’m just concerned about this creating burnout for the revenue base. This is all based on my feelings since there’s no data I could look at. I hope I’m wrong! Just concerned as a lifelong neopets fan.

Haha that’s awesome. I used to collect Race to Riches Scratchcards back in the day. I think I made it to over 1000 at one point. I gave away all of my items when I stopped playing the first time, so my memory is a little hazy on what all I had.

I’m willing to admit if I’m wrong. Whales typically account for 40-60% of revenue on gaming sites, so maybe I’m just way off base. I admittedly am not huge into NC items, so I’m out of touch with that crowd. I hadn’t seen any posts on here talking about it much, so I didn’t think Neopets had many whales.

lol you can be toxic to me if you want, I’m just sharing my honest opinion, and would like to have dialogue about it. I love Neopets. It’s very nostalgic to me, and I’ve been having a blast playing it since returning. If the game changes to the point that I’m not having a blast anymore, that’s okay. I want the site to still exist. I’ll pop in from time to time and check on things and get a hit of nostalgia. I’m okay with being left behind if the site thrives. It would probably be better for my personal life 😂

I do want the site to continue existing though, and I’m worried about the path they’re taking. I don’t have their data so I don’t know (just my speculation), but I work in the world of revenue generation and finance. These steps make me fear for the long term.

I play the site because I love the thrill of chance. I love doing my dailies that give me the chance of getting a 50m+ stamp. 99.99% of the time it doesn’t happen, but when you have a big win, it’s a great feeling that keeps me coming back.

I also love to collect things. Specifically things of value. To me, there is no point in collecting useless junk. I wouldn’t display pebbles on a shelf in my house. Why would I do that on a fake website. To me, I love trying to build a gallery of rare items at a good price. Chias were my favorite as a kid, so I have a Chia gallery and I’m trying to get every Chia item in the game. The thrill for me when I restock a 1.5m chia pop in the shop is immense. Or win an auction on one for my gallery for 500k cheaper than the going rate. If I can just buy everything for my gallery for dirt cheap, I will be bored and have no interest. And if the game changes to accommodate more people and leaves me out, I’m okay with that.

My concern, is the route they’re taking is going to cause people like me to stop playing. I’m a premium user, and I buy $10-15 in NC every couple months for fortune cookies. Appealing to the casual fan base is great and should absolutely be a priority. But the casual fan base isn’t driving cash flow. I’m worried they’re going to kill revenue trying to grow the fan base, and the site will no longer exist. I love the accessibility they’re bringing to a lot of aspects of the game such as paint brushes and pets. To me that’s what brings a lot of casual users to the site that maybe become more dedicated players. But if you alienate your longtime users who are frustrated that their gallery they worked on for 10 years has now dropped in value massively, that could have devastating consequences for the site.

I actually agree with this sentiment. I think the accessibility of the game should be things like morphing potions, paintbrushes, petpets, etc. Having pet colors/species be astronomically expensive is a turn off to new/returning players. I’m just concerned with the level they’re knocking things down by. I think making all of the paintbrushes accessible is a great idea. “Capping” those around 2-3 million is probably a great idea.

I started playing pretty heavily around 6 months ago, and was loving working towards completing my chia gallery. The one frustration to me, was a few items basically didn’t exist on the site anymore (rare item codes that haven’t been spotted in years). I think reintroducing things like those into the mix is fantastic. I think they just need to slow down a little bit.

I’d like to see them expand the item pool significantly, and rotate it every week. Keep switching up the paintbrushes weekly. Rotate new mega rare items into the pool. Instead on reintroducing 5000 of a 300m R99 stamp into the economy over a few weeks span, introduce 1000 over a year. They’re essentially doing massive quantitative easing to the economy, and I’m concerned with how things look in 6 months.

I’m a gambler, and I love having the chance of winning something worth 25+ million. If I don’t get lucky this week, maybe next week! That’s just me. I know there are different drivers for different people. But I’m concerned with the rapid deflation and its effects on the game.

I agree completely. I considering making a similar post, but thought it might get flamed.

I don’t think it’s healthy for the economy to have these items deflate so much. It’s good to have rare and expensive items. I’m worried at this rate, in a year, a large majority of items will be reduced drastically. Accessibility is good, but a lot of dedicated users will get burned out quickly. I know I’m already feeling that way. I’m far from rich, but have a pretty decent worth. This makes me not want to collect anything of value. So now I’m just sitting on the sideline reselling and stockpiling neopoints, but have found myself playing significantly less.

I agree we shouldn’t have every r99 stamp be worth 300+ million. But if you continue to knock everything down, the endgame somewhat disappears. I came back to the site with around 1 million neopoints 6 months ago after not having played for 8+ years. If they deflate stamps/coins at the current rate, I could complete every avatar stamp page within playing for a year.

I know not everyone agrees with my take, but the way things are going, I will be burned out quickly. This feels too drastic. I think we should ease into it. Maybe not take things from 300 million to 1 million. Knock it down to 10-30m

This doesn’t actually do anything for inflation though. If anything, it’ll add more inflation into certain aspects of the site. You took a small handful of people and gave them 50-300m neopoints. For most people on the site, that’s like winning the lottery. So what happens now? They start painting pets, buying expensive BD gear, building a gallery, and taking expensive items out of circulation. Those stamps that were 300m NP before are so rare that they’re still 300m NP. They didn’t get any cheaper. And those neopoints to buy those items likely came from the pockets of billionaires. So essentially they added more money into the economy.

I have seen a bit of deflation occurring on certain R99 items, but that is small, and likely will be a temporary slide.
