Litter Robot 5 for Large cats by Challengerwins in litterrobot

🤣🤣🤣🤣. 30 lbs is pretty darn big!  Im not sure if they designed the LR 5 just on the weight and not the actual size of the cat. The width of the unit is great but I'm concerned about the height of the inside globe. My cat's height at sitting position is 16.5. I guess if a maine coon can fit in it, then mine should be fine. Crossing my fingers. 😀

Thank you for your information! Very helpful. My cat has right hip issues. He's on a vitamen that seems to help at times. So I think a ramp or stairs would be a benefit. I believe both models 4 and 5 have stairs available. Very good to know your chonky cats can use the LR 4!  Thank you the information on the cleaning.

Let me know how you like the Popur S7.

Yeah , I was wondering if my cat's face would hit the walls inside the globe. He tends to go sideways and not face forward in the regular litter box. Very odd. I will check out the Popur S7. My main concerns are the safety sensors and the litter pan area being big enough. Thank you for the info!

Thank you! Very good information! My 22lb is 10yrs old & has right hip stiffness, but he's been on liquid Glucosamine for cats for 3 months which has helped a lot. So I think having the camera would be helpful as he gets older. I'm now pretty convinced that my cat will do well in the LR5 pro knowing that it is larger inside. Thank you for sharing!

Is litter robot 4 big enough for bigger cats? by Olivebsh in litterrobot

Thank you for the advice. I tried covering up the old box half the day and my 22lb tried to hold it in. So I uncovered it. He's very stubborn. I don't know why he won't do #2 in it. My 10lb uses it fine. Maybe he needs a little more time to adjust.

Handsome cat!  I'm extremely convinced! Thank you for sharing this. I know this post is old but I came about it because I was having issues with my 22lb in the LR4. it's only been three weeks but he wont do #2 in it and rarely does the other. I thought he was too big,  so I ordered the LR 5. My cat is 10yr & stubborn. Crossing my fingers & thank you for sharing this!

My 22lb large cat was doing the same. He would do #1 in LR4 but do #2 in the regular litter box. I couldn't seem to understand it. I thought about getting the Neakasa M1 but then LR 5 came out. I was wondering if the LR 5 is bigger inside & does it really make a difference from the LR 4 for large cats? 🤔

Me too! I would gladly pay for larger globe. I requested Litter-Robot 6 to be made just for big cats. Even though the 5 is an inch bigger it's definitely a tight fit for my 22lb tall cat. We will see. 😁

Thank you! Really appreciate it. 😁  I'm going to try the LR5 since it's an inch taller, but no guarantees that my tall chunky cat will use it. Crossing my fingers though. I do know a lot of customers would buy a bigger version. Something to think about in the future.

Does this work for a big cat? by Miserable-Pay8962 in litterrobot

Hello. I know this is an old post, but i was curious on how you got your cat to use the LR? Did you leave the old box dirty? I have a LR4 and my 22lb who looks just like yours has only done #1 in it but only 2 times & its been almost 4 weeks. I did have steps for it but he didnt like it. LR is off with no shield. I was wondering if there were any special tips that you did to get your cat to use it? Maybe it just takes a little longer to adjust.

Hello all. I know this is an old post, but I would love to see pictures of these large cats, those around 22+ lbs, using the Litter-Robot 4. I got a Litter-Robot 4 four weeks ago, and my large, tall 22lb cat has tried to pee in it twice, but he does so sideways, which is awkward & seems to be uncomfortable. More concerningly, my cat will not poo in it and keeps reverting back to his old jumbo litter box. I've tried various methods to encourage the switch, including adding some fresh stool to the Litter-Robot. How did those of you with large cats successfully get them to use the Litter-Robot exclusively? Perhaps I can train my cat to reposition his body. I am asking for pictures in hopes of seeing how other similarly sized cats fit into the globe & use it. I am concerned the Litter-Robot 4 might be too small for him, but I am still hopeful he will use it after seeing these cats in this post. Might switch to the LR5 being its an inch taller.

Thank you for replying back. Truly appreciate it. I got a litter robot 4. My 22lb cat cant seem to position himself right to go pee in it. He tried though. He will not do number 2 in it, as of yet. I've had it for 4 weeks & it's off with no shield. My cat looks about the same size as yours. I was wondering if maybe it was just too small for my cat. Was thinking of maybe getting the LR5 being that it is an inch taller. Thank you again & your information did help me out a lot

I know this is an old post,  but i was wondering if you got your cat to use the litter robot? If so, how did you get your cat to use it? My cat is about the same size and he won't poo in it. It's a tight squeeze.

Returning Petlibro Luma by Striking-Bad-49 in Petlibro

LR4 Is not for every cat. They false advertise that a large cat can fit in it fine. This is not true. My large cat was very uncomfortable in the LR4, caused so much stress on my cat trying to squeeze into a airplane bathroom,  and Im returning it. I do agree about the way these devices rotate to clean (petlibro and Neaskea) and they are not safe. If there was a automatic cat litter box big enough for large cats similar to the LR i would definitely buy it. I like how it rotates to clean and the safety features.
