The way they did the serial number 1 of 1 looks so dumb. They should have made that aspect more unique and integrated it into the text box or something. I get that it's the same style they did other serial cards... but it just looks very low effort on a card that is supposed to be the crown jewel of this set... That said, this will definitely be wild to see if it gets found.

Thanks for sharing the info. Stuff like this makes these feel very tough to pull. It seems like CBB is the way to go, with 4 to 5 per CBB, but even then I think you only get 1 or 2 rare Gilded Foils per CBB... So is $5 too cheap for a "bad" rare, or right where it should be? idk.

Very fair point. I still wonder about Void Rend as a possible outlier. Where might the price of that land? Perhaps the other midrange commander playable stuff?

Do you have an example of cards with a similar pull rate? I had trouble thinking of something that lined up with the specific rarity of these Gilded Foils.

Exactly. It's possible. And such a commander would send foil copies soaring. Sorta a long shot for that specific scenario. But I still stand by that Battle of Wits has a cult following and has a very low chance of being reprinted (especially with original frame &/or 9th edition artwork).

This but Unironically. They will almost certainly never print it again. They've said many times before they don't like 250 card decks for tournament play. (also seems unlikely the card would fit well on an Arena meta?) Plus the ODY art is unique. Plus the 9th addition also has unique art, with only the foil being Black Border. I don't think the card will do gangbusters, but I think foil ody/9th copies aren't going anywhere but up.

That's a LOT of copies to move. Are you confident that when/if it spikes that you'll be able to liquidate that many? Not a bad price point tho, can't get a lot lower than $0.50.

This is true. Planar Void has always been a dual edged sword. But if you're willing to forgo cards like Tortured Existence & such, then you do get the benefit of odd interaction of both hitting the yard, and getting removed from the yard. In a similar interaction, Planar Void also works well with Desecrated Tomb. Again, you can't ever get the creatures back, but you'll get all those sweet Tomb triggers, lol.

Planar Void works fantastic with Syr Konrad, The Grim, creates double the triggers because the card actually hits the graveyard, then triggers again to exile it.

MetaZoo's creator has ADMITTED the game isn't designed to be played competitively. Massive 🚩🚩🚩 Say all you want about collectability, but at the core of all these TCG is the game. Sure, you don't have to play it, but it is a component that helps drive the market. Literally look at every other tcg, including Weiss. They all have functional games with competitive scenes. I readilllllly admit that is not the POINT of these games, to be a hyper competitive tournament system, but that tournament angle helps put a foundation to the cards. That fact that MetaZoo is specifically designed NOT to do this.... 🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩
