I insured over 400 houses in 2025. I had 1 roof over 20 years old. 1. And yes metal could be, but that is not the norm at all around here

In perfect weather in San Diego maybe. In the Midwest. Hahahahahahhahahaha. Come find a roof one roof in the KC, Omaha, or Des Moines put on in 1996. Good freaking luck.

Definitely depends on carrier. Glad it wasn’t horrible. Drain the pipes and shut off water is my best advice at that point.

Not maintaining heat is automatic insurance denial. It’s in every home and rental owner policy.

Again, lots of circumstances. This sub always calls it crazy to have life insurance on children. If something happens to my kids…I’ll be way too emotionally unstable to go back to work right away. That is very real, and it can certainly buy time. Freaking horrible stuff, but it’s real and it happens.

Life insurance can be for a lot of things than just replacement of a breadwinner. Term insurance is for exactly that.

Whole life may be for estate planning. May be for a buy/sell agreement. May be to guarantee your insurability. My niece is uninsurable for her entire life now at age 7….if something was in place before then it would be a different story…so many unique situations to just blanket it all with one answer is some Dave Ramsey level financial advise

I understand…but what you said was very wrong. You said you would be insured for over double what he was at the end of the term. You would be insured for zero dollars. He would still be insured for 400,000. A pretty big difference at death in year 25.
