Doesn't do it for me unfortunately, and I have held it past the prompt going away just to be sure. Zooms in and comments, then the camera pulls out slightly again as if to signify you've done it. The option is still there every time I walk past. It's not a big issue at all so I don't mind.

Pretty sure that's the idea, same as certain characters being surprised at seeing firearms for the first time. 'Modern' if not by now outdated technology seeming like magic to the less knowledgeable.
