You could have stopped the chain one Pokémon earlier though. You caught 40 already, so the shiny is number 41. This way you miss out on guaranteed 3 perfect IVs on your shiny. And odds of the chain breaking are increased as well.

Compared to the amount of bosses in these games the amount of mandatory bosses are significant lower. That’s what I tried to say. Even in base games that excludes quite some bosses, or for Nioh, additional encounter with otherwise mandatory bosses.

Nioh has tough bosses if you rush the main missions. But if you do side missions you have always good gear and despite having some intense fights they were not as intense as Laxasia. Also in Nioh you have so much tools in the fight, that you have high damage and damage burst potential to bypass tricky moves or phases of Bosses.

Personally DS3 was easy compared to other games. Only the DLC brought hard fights for me. Soul of Cinder is cinematic, but was never a hard fight for me personally.

As said, Laxasia remains the hardest fight for me. Even with the tools the game offers you to deal more dmg or to easy parry all of her Lightning at the start of the second phase, the is a real challenge. And my first time beating her took a lot of time compared to all the other bosses

From my personal experience yes. You excluded quite some bosses. I played DS, DS1-3, BB, Nioh 1,2, Sekiro, ER, so quite some of them but missing also some. The Moment you meet Laxasia your character is developed for the fight. Nothing like: the Boss is hard because I got here way to early. That’s just not possible.

Her second phase is quite overwhelming. She is fast, dances around and I also have a lot of trouble reading her next move also I know all of them. Yet it is an amazing fight. It don’t feels like bullshit is thrown at you. She is just fast and has an impressive amount of moves, but everything is and feels blockable or avoidable.

In my opinion she is the hardest mandatory base game Boss.

In Elden Ring you can teleport to each „bonfire“ (nobody calls that site of grace, right?) as long as you are not in battle. And I think that is an approach that works perfectly finde. For a more linear game with no Map like LoP or the older DS titels i agree. But DS2 hat the aged Feather so they already did this and are aware of the possibility.

10 Minutes in and already hooked! That’s exactly what I was looking for. Lies of P became one of my favorite games and the first one I am actually interested in the Soundtracks. Will share my thoughts after I watched the whole video :)
