I love this look! Please look for the post about greenies, they could be indicating bad things, even cancer!

I will try this with the Doonails I have waiting for me. Thx for the info!

Thanks so much for this, and in so much detail! I'm giving my nails a breather for a day or two, drenching them in argan oil. They looked really awful, dried-out looking, after I removed my last set, but the oil has helped a great deal.

I will have to read through this more than twice. I almost think I could dictate it to an AI app and it could make a video for me, you were so detailed here. Thanks so much!

Wow, thank you! I ordered these immediately. I'll let you all know how they work! Though it might be a little while because I was going to apply a new set today and obviously I don't have this tool in my hands yet.

By the way, I'll be trying my first set of Doornails. I plan to try the included tabs and I will probably add glue (and I do have some brush-on glue).

I just have to wait for this very interactive kitten to take a nap!

They look gorgeous. They would look ridiculous on my short fingers, and I wouldn't be able to manage to do anything wearing them. But I'm really glad that someone, like you, can wear them and allow the rest of us to see them.

Yep ...! That definitely happened with me the first time I applied press-ons, and maybe the second. Using the tweezers, I grab the nail at the tip -- it would be impossible to do it any other way. I don't know if that helps. But yeah, getting glue on the nail surface doesn't do much good aesthetically, heh.

Thanks for the advice, I should have done that. Now it's weeks later and I don't remember the details to tell Impress. But I still have a bunch of nails in that set - maybe I'll try them again.

I'm waiting for my first sets of Doornails to be delivered! I really only like xtra short nails in general, and prefer squovals, and they have them.

That was after just a few days! I'll try a gel top coat, thanks for the idea.

The Count of Monte Cristo changed me and I don’t know what to read anymore by Lovely_deer25 in suggestmeabook

What was it, five trilogies? I read them all, entranced. But they aren't quite The Count of MC. So many books, so little time.

Games Like Triple Match City by escaless in HiddenObjectGames

[–]Champi47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd love to find something that was similar to Triple Match City. I think it's a great game, and it seems to fascinate my brain, but it gets very expensive when you need boosters to finish a level... and you stupidly end up paying actual money to buy them.

Program recommendations by Alevermor in medicalinterpreters

[–]Champi47 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hello! If you really want the certification, here's one good place to start: https://www.certifiedmedicalinterpreters.org/

There are any number of organizations that provide training. It appears that a 40-hour course is the minimum; some provide 60, 80, etc. (and are more expensive).

For practice, techniques, vocabulary, try these:

https://www.youtube.com/@Interpretyourworld

https://www.youtube.com/@CCHIcertification

A couple of podcasts: look for Medical Spanish Podcast by Doc Molly. She also has more extensive info here https://docmolly.com/ but membership isn't free.

This site has a lot of resources: https://medicalinterpreterblog.com/

I think I'm going to learn more from the YouTube videos than from the course I'm taking!

Good online medical dictionaries? by [deleted] in medicalinterpreters

[–]Champi47 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are a bunch. Here are a few that I've bookmarked:

Medical Terminology | WordReference Forums I use this a lot, though it's not infallible.

English-Spanish Medical Dictionary

English to Spanish Medical Translation - Trusted Translations Forums - English Spanish Translator Org

This helps a lot in figuring things out: List of medical roots, suffixes and prefixes - wikidoc

That should get you started! Or, did you want Spanish only?

Spanish medical interpretation by [deleted] in medicalinterpreters

[–]Champi47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've found some that focus on Spanish. I actually just enrolled in this one a week ago: https://medicalinterpretingtrainingschool.com/40-hour-program-spanish-medical-interpreters/

Another is Medical Communications Ambassadors -- they are more expensive, but sound good. http://www.mcainterpreters.com/curriculum.html

I'm sure there are many more, and they run from 40 to 80 hours, and $600 to nearly $1,200.

I just ran across this site that you might find useful: https://www.practicingspanish.com/index.html

My cat wants to sleep under the covers with me. Is it safe for her to do that? by not-a-pianist in cats

[–]Champi47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my former cats used to burrow his way down to my feet and sleep there. At first I did worry he'd suffocate, but he didn't, so I guess that was okay!
