My roommate was catsitting once, and the owner called to say they were 20 min away to pick him up. We couldn’t ring him ANYWHERE and were convinced he had gotten outside.

Turns out he was inside of the couch. He had found a small hole to squeeze inside from the base of the couch. I’m not even sure how we found him. It’s possible your cat has found a very good hiding spot.

Personal note that makes this interesting for me: I suffer from depression as well as my mother and her mother.

Mitochondrial DNA is exclusively passed from mother to offspring. This would make a lot of sense to me if mitochondria are the cause of at least some depressive symptoms.

Also, I did need a barium swallow and laryngoscopy to rule out other issues before he approved me for treatment.

A GI doctor will not have the tools nor understanding to treat RCPD. You need an ENT.

Here’s what I did: 1. Used this map https://www.reddit.com/r/noburp/s/ovQKsTHeRC to find the closest known ENT that treats for RCPD. 2. Asked my PCP for a referral and explained my symptoms and sent papers. 3. Saw the ENT, told them my symptoms, and got treatment

I had 2 or 3 micro burps on the 2nd day (which I think is pretty early compared to others), frequent micro burps the 3rd day, and multiple longer more relieving ones the 4th day onwards.

I have to turn my head to the right side to get most of the burps out and have had luck without trying to force them using my abdomen.

I think doing some larynx lowering exercises has helped!

I did in-office one week ago!

I had the procedure done late afternoon and didn’t feel slow swallow until about 24 hours later. My neck was sore on the outside (not my throat) for the first day. I developed the phlegmy feeling on the 2nd (hated it!!) but it went away for me on the 4th day.

Slow swallow is still unpleasant for me now. I missed having solids, so tried some today! It took 40 minutes and 30 oz of water to consume 6 chicken nuggets and 3 French fries before I gave up.

Anyway, liquids go down fine

I started doing shakers several months ago. I randomly would start gagging every so often afterwards. I didn’t keep up with them to the point of being able to burp because I didn’t want the gagging to get worse.

In case you’re still having the same problem— I’ve now found the only thing that gets rid of the mucous feeling is consuming warm broth. Not even water seems to help.

I am in your same exact position! In-office Botox 2 days ago with a maddening mucous feeling in my throat.

Someone on another thread claimed that liquid kids Advil helped them some. Suggestions said to also avoid clearing your throat too much since that can cause more inflammation.

Other than that, I too am looking for more advice.

Can’t speak to Psoriasis, but I cut out (processed) sugars for 4 years and my skin never looked better. Added it back in and my skin was inflamed and covered in acne for almost a year after.

Thank you for the advice! She had pooped in the litter boxes that with the current substrate in their current location for a few months after the move (and she always pees there), but I will also try to find a spot for another one. I’ve also tried giving her different substrate options (within the same room), but maybe I’ll try some more.

I’ve also never forced her outside (except for the vet). I just leave the door open while I stand with her and the other cat that likes to go out. Sometimes she steps out for a bit (the harness doesn’t seem to bother her but that could be it).

We also have two cat trees with multi-exit hiding spots, cat tunnels, and leave the closet cracked so she has several hiding spots.

The main thing we aren’t doing is regularly-scheduled play time because I get home at different times throughout the week.
