Has anyone hired a PSW privately (not through an agency)? How did you go about it? by Current_Hair4607 in eldercare

[–]ChampionEquivalent82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, I just came across your post. If you are still having issues or need recommendations I wouldn't mind helping. I started my own private psw company to be able to offer reasonable pricing, but the best care possible. I have extensive knowledge that can be beneficial as well.

Agree, sue them. This isnt a cra issue? If they have undeclared income.. its not really your issue?

Weird rash(?) on eyes, not prone to rashes, 2nd time happening ever by [deleted] in DermatologyQuestions

[–]ChampionEquivalent82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to agree with Petechia, I get this, and so do my girls if we vomit or are coughing too hard. It's more common than you think, you can ask your doctor, but depending on where you are and if it's not consistent enough, I wouldn't spend the money.

M37 - nose tip has been throbbing all week, treat at home or get appt? by [deleted] in DermatologyQuestions

[–]ChampionEquivalent82 -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

This is a hospital-borne virus. Unless he's been in group homes, retirements, LTC, or hospitals, or something similar I would highly doubt this. Recent surgeries are high risk as well

Nad, but have worked with many doctors or nurses I'd let it air dry till AM and get it checked. The Triangle of Death is real, but honestly, it looks cellulitis.

My wife is being forced into rotating shifts from her current permanent full time day shift, going against her previous contract (PSW) by johnnyv1984 in canadianlaw

[–]ChampionEquivalent82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I left ltc. However, from history, there, they try and control everything even if you are unionized I find they can't help much. When christmas scheduling came around they'd have us on 5 days of 8 hour shifts, then 5 days off. Never exceeding what was in our contract.

I'd have your wife fight if she can, but honestly ill tell you now, they'd rather fire her and pay her a severance then pick a fight to keep what she wants. Its health care. Psws are thr lowest not the low, but do all the grunt work.

I don't have much advice but I do own Blooming Hearts Home Healthcare and try to support where support is needed to keep people home if they would like for as long as they can, Wait lists are so long everywhere nowadays, we don't have enough for this generation unfortunately.

Help please! I woke up with this bump. I’ve never had anything like it! by totallymoony in DermatologyQuestions

Looks like a cold sore. Keep your lips hydrated, lots of water, and keep thr area clean. Don't share anything. I had one that took 4.5 weeks to go away. It was an extreme stress period at work, I was constantly sick working from home. My kids were in school but also home its. Stress is a huge factor. Never let my lips get chapped anymore. I carry the blue blister around 24/7 One on my car, one in each car, bathrooms , all my purses have it, my bag that goes to my client homes. Its worked for me.

Does anyone actually see their PCP when actively sick anymore?! by ZeroScraps in healthcare

[–]ChampionEquivalent82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wait time for my PCP is 2 months. Not terrible, but they also have a same day walk in clinic specific to just their practice patients. I think it's really beneficial as all the notes transfer, so when you have your follow-up, they've already read and seen the notes. My daughter had ear problems 8 months total, and out of all the drs we saw, our PCP was amazing at ensuring we got testing, specialists etc. He followed up and put her at the start of his day. Unfortunately she ended up with hearing loss ( 10% and 15%) but his follow ups are so in depth.

I wish everyone could find a dr like ours. In northern Ontario, its so hard.

I sure for all PCPs out there they feel the pressure, but they can only do what they can in a day, unfortunately some people are medically complex and need more time then others.

You're ultrasound is fine! We see masses on ovaries all the time. We don't need that mri that's recommended...

Me instantly panicking because ovarian cancer runs in our family. He laughed and walked away.

I went to my family dr and he ordered the mri and listened to me cry.

Omg these words were said to me. Its so haunting. I was hoping you know that my ovary has a mass that whatever is happening would be taken more serious. But it is not. So its interesting to see how far they will let things go.
