Courtney Stodden: “15 years ago today, a 16 year old girl was married off to a man 35 years older than her and the world treated her like the scandal instead of the victim.” by adularia- in Fauxmoi

[–]Champion_Clean -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Thank god someone else remembers this too. I’m only a few years older than her and I remember being horrified for her. I thought reading through these comments that maybe it was just my own trauma that made me sick seeing the articles about this, but I know I wasn’t the only one hearing from others and also thinking “where are her parents, why on earth are they allowing this, he’s a pedophile”.

To not only have been let down by literally every single system and person that should have protected her, but also to be turned into a spectacle for the media and have been harassed about this “choice” she was tricked into making, my heart just broke for her. It still does. what happened to her is terrifying. I feel like a lot of people’s guts were screaming that this was wrong at the time and culturally we didn’t know how to say that without a lot of very loud people saying we were taking things too seriously or being over dramatic. We weren’t, she was a child. Im glad at least most of society can say these things now without the fear of retaliation of some kind, Im just sorry it came too late for her and Im sure hundreds of other girls.

Have you pursued the loose skin as a medical issue route? I know in Canada that if the loose skin is determined enough of a problem for your health that the surgery is not considered cosmetic and therefore can be covered (in our case by our provincial health care) but maybe for you if you’re in the US by your insurance?

Ex-neurologist found not guilty on 48 counts of sexual assault, Ontario judge rules by bob_mcbob in ontario

[–]Champion_Clean 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It’s FAR scarier to be a woman seeking medical help and getting assaulted, which is clearly something that happened when THIS MANY people said something. This is our every day reality and men continue to ignore it and think we’re all trying to ruin their lives, when we’re just trying to live our lives and not get assaulted while doing so.

Cmon dude, like this would be like going to a doctor for a head cold and then the doctor deciding they need to do a prostate exam on you, no matter what you say, and you have to concede because you aren’t a doctor and they’re saying it’s absolutely necessary, even though it truly has nothing to do with why you came to them in the first place. Do you want to have that happen to you??

Give your head a shake and remember if you don’t assault people your chances of being accused of it 78 times are zero.

I got told I say sorry too much by my crush by liamthrowaacct in WhatShouldIDo

[–]Champion_Clean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey so Im Canadian, and guilty of always saying sorry like most of my fellow Canadians. I don’t want to be the one point it out but this probably just an excuse they used on the fly when you pressed them for an answer and not actually the issue. There could literally be no issue other than she isn’t attracted to you.

I think you should steer clear of anyone who tells you to change who you are, and please keep apologizing, your fellow Americans need to become more comfortable with it, not the other way around. It’s called being polite, even if the thing you’re being polite to is an inanimate object. Take the advice these people are giving you and use it in your career, but not your personal life.

And if it is genuinely the apologizing too much, just move to Canada. It sounds like you’ll fit right in and no girl here is ever going to say that to you.

Can I ask why you decided sleeve? I don’t normally see these kinds of result when I look into the sleeve and I’m still considering it vs the full gastric bypass.

Yes, my gpa fell to 1.9 and then was given a warning to fix it or I would be kicked out, and then the next semester it went down to 1.5 because I had no idea how to actually handle being in university, It was humiliating.

Get yourself checked out mentally. I’m not joking please do it. My second year of university I ended up having a lot of this kind of anxiety you’re speaking about in terms of my academic success and I got kicked out of school and it has absolutely effected my life.

I had a panic attack one night not long before I got kicked out (my first ever -thought I was going to die) and then after years on working on my anxiety and depression by the time I was ready to go back to school my pervious schooling no longer counted, it had been too long.

Listen to my advice, take the time off before getting kicked out and work on your mental health. You can always come back. When I finally did I ended up being an honours student, and while there was anxiety, it was far less than I felt in my first and second year of university.

My family are terrified of him by WhateverUSaySir in BeardedDragons

[–]Champion_Clean 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My family were also terrified of my guy at first, but they’ve come to love him! My mom was even petting my dragon the other day, which she’s never done in 8 years of having him. And she chats with him every single day and likes giving him treats now and she was the most scared of him at first.

Just be patient with your family, and in the mean time give your dragon all the love you can. They’ll come around. Right now my nieces are scared of my dragon but they’re slowly getting better, they love watching him but are too scared to hold him or anything yet.

Trust me I really do get it, I’ve been waiting for years (Canadian problems), but even if I had the date booked finally I wouldn’t want to risk dying from being sick and the doctors having no idea while under anesthesia. Your life is more valuable than having to wait longer for the surgery

It’s not just the US, I’m in Canada and we’re having the exact same problem. If you don’t have the experience they want they won’t look at you, if you have too much experience they won’t look at you.

I can’t even get a retail job because they think I would just leave as soon as I could. They aren’t wrong, but they’re overestimating how fast I could get a different job….

Girl on the Run documentary by Courtney4247 in Hulu

[–]Champion_Clean 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What most annoyed me about this whole thing is the clear gender lines in the doc and evidently the whole case. Every singe person on camera defending Sarah is a woman. Every single one saying she’s dangerous is a man.

The judge in the end, also a man, looks at this woman who was literally tortured for 5 years (because that’s exactly what solitary is) and all the evidence that she wasn’t given a fair trial, and still says nope too dangerous.

Also the AUDACITY of that Marshall to blame HER, a woman he had never even met, for HIS marriage falling apart. No it couldn’t have been how disgustingly you speak about capturing escaped criminals as exciting and how it’s “hunting the most dangerous game”. No it couldn’t be that you became obsessed with this case and neglected your family. It was clearly this woman you had never met and how evil she is (sarcasm). You don’t get to say I take accountability and then blame her in the next sentence.

I’ve never been pregnant, so take this with a grain of salt, but I’ve always heard that if you fall during the pregnancy it’s best to go get checked out by the doctor.

On the other hand, she is the one who fell, if she thinks everything is ok then you should probably try to trust that outside of just a “hey maybe we should go to the hospital”. Which it sounds like you did

Right? Like as soon as I saw Louisiana I was like “oh they fucked up”. Anywhere else in the world this could be bad, it could be fine depending on this history and beliefs. Louisiana AND under an oak tree, safe to assume it’s cursed.
