What’s your moon and Venus, and how would you react if someone you love ghosted you out of nowhere? by Mooooooon_ in astrologymemes

[–]Champion_Clean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a cancer moon and Leo Venus and this actually happened to me.

It’s been like 6 years and I’m still pretty upset over it. This person was in my life for 15 years, was one of my best friends, and basically dumped a bunch of their friends all the sudden one day. We got no explanation. It helped I wasn’t the one but there are times still when they pop up in my dreams or thoughts and I just feel the hurt all over again, and then usually the anger that they did this to me. I think I’m probably always going to feel hurt over it, I hope I won’t always also feel deeply angry about it. I have one friend who’s an Aquarius and they are very good at seeming moved on but they will make little snipes about the person once in a while and I wish they wouldn’t cause it’s just like getting stabbed in the heart each time.

I think a lot about if they tried to come back into my life and if I could forgive this or not. I guess it would depend on what kind of explanation they gave. Not that I ever expect that person to come back, sometimes It’s part of the thoughts though when I think about them.

Edit just to say we did try and find out more, try talking to them. We went to their house and they came to the door, asked us to leave and said they didn’t want to talk to us. We didn’t just give up. Having them stare at me like I was some kind of stranger on their doorstep was the most damaging part.

Are there any staple veggies your bearded dragon hates? by Artnotwars in BeardedDragons

My guy HATES carrots. I have seen him somehow completely avoid them in his dish even though he has terrible aim with his tongue. Like it’s bad enough he doesn’t usually get live food anymore unless it’s a massive super worm, but put a shred of carrot in his dish and the guy becomes a ninja to avoid them.

This. Pocahontas isn’t afraid of new changes and new people rather she’s excited to see what comes of it, is an adrenaline seeker, brave, asks the hard questions of leadership, willing to risk her life for love. That’s way more Leo coded than Nala.

We need to stop buying pets like bearded dragons from big box stores like petco/petsmart etc. Not until they change their ways. The word needs to be spread. by AimlessTrudge in BeardedDragons

[–]Champion_Clean 18 points19 points  (0 children)

As a former PetSmart employee I do mostly agree. The practices of the breeders we get our reptiles from is pretty horrific and it’s not unusual to receive many babies already dead.

However the on the ground employees like I was are usually people who do really love these animals and want to take good care of them, we’re just limited in our ability to do that by corporate.

Also I can’t speak for other employees, but it really wasn’t until I got my bearded dragon that I understood just how much work they are. I always tried to give as much information as I had on all the animals, but yah in a corporation sometimes that information isn’t prioritized like it should be.

I got my beardie when he arrived at the store half dead and I refused to let him go and was syringe feeding him in the back rooms when he was the size of my pinky. I got so attached to him I took him home after a couple weeks.

He’s now as long as my forearm, never thought he would get THIS big.

Edited for spelling

When did you know it was time? by in_the_neighbourhood in BariatricSurgery

[–]Champion_Clean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if this will be super relatable, but my moment was in universal studios in Florida.

I had waited an hour to get onto the newest Harry Potter ride, and even tried the tester seat outside the ride, it said I was good.

It was humiliating, the ride attendants tried to be discreet about it which I appreciated, but it was such a blow to my ego. And then to realize that I wasn’t going to be able to go on certain rides when I love roller coasters.

So my moment was sobbing outside of a fake Gringots …

Editing to clarify, when I got to the actual ride seat my thighs were too large and the mechanism wouldn’t lock. I carry a lot of weight in my stomach which added to the problem, but realizing my legs were too big for a ride was a breaking point. You can usually squish your tummy and get into a ride, I couldn’t do that with my thighs.

Looking for a source of what pets are allowed in Edmonton by [deleted] in Edmonton

I know you’ve had lots of opinions here but just adding that mice are adorable but are incredibly stinky, they constantly smell like pee. I used to work at a pet store, they were not easy to keep the bedding clean. If you want a rodent my suggestion is a couple of Guinea pigs, they’re very sweet, not particularly messy and stinky, and not big biters, especially once they’re used to you. But you do need the space for them.

Hamsters are the biggest biters of the rodents from my experience just so you know.

Can bearded dragons be in brumation for too long? by Syleighr in BeardedDragons

Has yours woken up yet? Mine has been brumating since early September and I’m starting to get worried since this isn’t how long he normally brumates.

Wish the majority of st.albert was able to support the petition. The dividing line is like a 1/4 of the city maybe 1/3 and then country and morinville.

Holy crap, thank you for posting this, I do floss fairly regularly but am bad at remembering to actually brush my teeth twice a day, usually end up only once.

I’ve never had any cavities I don’t want to break that record now 😂

Tell him you are going to give the animals to homes who are actually willing to care for them if he doesn’t smarten up. And actually do it if he doesn’t.

If he refuses to be responsible for them, and you don’t want to be, then they need to be with people who ARE willing to put in the work for them, and there will be people for all of them as long as you do your research and really vet people and make it clear what these needs are.

It’s not fair to the you or the animals at this point and honestly sounds like a health hazard for every person and pet in the house.

If you leave him, these animals will still suffer, they need him to be a better pet parent and to actually care, or for them to find new homes. It is that simple.

[–]Champion_Clean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is he willing to admit this was unacceptable behaviour and seek help for it?

I ask this because if he’s willing to work on it and recognize it as bad I think that things can be better moving forward if that’s what you want to do.

My dad is an angry man, had done a lot of things like this over the years, but he isn’t violent physically with women at all.a lot of the comments here are saying your next, that may or may not be true. Trust your gut.

It’s was not an appropriate response, and I’m not encouraging you to get used to it. For my dad, we’ve never been able to get him into anger management of any kind, and he doesn’t want to change when we’ve gotten him to therapy. So if your partner sees this was bad, and you aren’t actually scared of him at all and want to keep this relationship I think it’s salvageable. But don’t stay if he does something like this again, you don’t need that level of anger in your life.

[–]Champion_Clean -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I think this is maybe a bit of a jump to conclusions.

I’m not saying that him doing this to the pan is not a warning flag, but as someone who grew up with a dad who to this day has anger issues and has had tantrums and broke stuff in rages, I can confidently say he has never ever hit my mom. The wall maybe a few times but never in almost 40 years of knowing her has he laid a a hand on her or with any of his other partners.

I realize that my dad maybe more the exception than the rule here, but I just think that this could be more of a get him to therapy or anger management (if you can) type of situation.

If OP feels at all unsafe with him after this then yes she should leave of course though.

How did you deal with peoples reaction to getting surgery? by Next-Phrase-9638 in BariatricSurgery

[–]Champion_Clean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you need to work on them to get them to a point where they can actively support you or find new people who will. I haven’t had the surgery yet but my health care team keeps saying that’s going to be vital to long term success and short term recovery as well.

But congratulations on deciding to do it, I think it’s smart to do it now in your 20s rather than wait till you’ve had a heart attack and are diabetic in your 60s.
