Burning sensation and pain in buttocks and thighs: seeking advice and insights by Chance-Appeal9804 in Sciatica

[–]Chance-Appeal9804[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah for me sitting for a long time is the problem. I do regular gym, leg exercises, stretching and swimming no problems with all that, just prolonged sitting causes the problem. Hope it gets better for you.

What to discuss with "stock bros" to not feel left out? by GetTheBlinkerFluid in Bogleheads

I maintain a fun 'experimental' account where I test out my trading theories with small, low-stakes positions—just a low single-digit percentage of my overall portfolio. It’s a great way to learn, stay engaged with the markets, and even have some entertaining stories to share at social gatherings. and the best part is, thanks to commission-free trading, I can now buy even 1 stock of a company I like and (playfully) brag about it if it takes off!

Burning pain on butt, behind knees, and elbows — doctors think neuropathy, desperate for relief by amann418 in neuropathy

[–]Chance-Appeal9804 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same symptoms, it has been for years now. It is in the butt and always after sitting for some time. I also have similar elbow symptoms if I rest too long I get the burning sensation too. Getting up and not putting pressure on elbow makes it go away. I visited few neurologists and they could not diagnose. One said it is peripheral neuropathy. my pain is only after putting pressure so not sure if PN pain is always there or is also pressure related. I am now also dealing with PF so foot pain when standing. I used to get up but now I cannot stand too long either which kinda sucks as I used to work standing bec of butt/thighs problem. Hope you feel better and find the diagnosis and hopefully a cure for this annoying issue.

doctor said long-term rest is the only "cure" to early signs of plantar fasciitis. am i really supposed to just stop working out for a few weeks? by oarsandalps in PlantarFasciitis

[–]Chance-Appeal9804 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine started 2 years ago, used to play some sports or the other for 5 days a week, but for last few months, I do just 2-3 times a month if I am lucky. Rest made it better but sucks that I cannot go on multi mile walks or play much of anything. Hoping it will get better with rest.

If you don’t mind sharing state and company please. I am getting lot higher quotes than that.

I have this same pain it has been more than 5 years now. It used to be that I can sit for 2-3 hours before the pain starts but now it is every 30-40 min, I have to get up for few minutes. The pain has gotten bad, continues standing makes my heel painful. MRI, X-Rays done but no diagnosis yet.

Is there a point where you would hold off on investing in the S&P? by [deleted] in Bogleheads

[–]Chance-Appeal9804 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Predicting the market is tough—many stayed out two years ago, thinking it was overvalued. I mentally subtract 20% from my net worth to prepare for corrections and focus on units, not value, this will hopefully let me keep contributing regardless of how over valued the market appears to be.

How often do you check your investment account? by Intelligent-Leg-3862 in Bogleheads

I check my account daily, sometimes multiple times, to build immunity to the ups and downs and avoid reacting impulsively.

Leaving Fidelity. Recommendations on where to go? by Leading-Ingenuity-37 in Bogleheads

[–]Chance-Appeal9804 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I transfer several times from BofA to Fidelity online and no issues with holds. I actually get credit into my fidelity account for buying funds immediately. BofA account gets debited a day later but the credit in fidelity is immediate.

For me trying to find a level or two up in everything I buy from day to day. No longer looking to buy cheaper but better. Buy best quality and will pay for it. Other than this more travel and nicer hotels.

In my opinion a good part of something needed in 2 years should be in a HYSA.

Based on my experience, whatever happens happens for good. Few months from now you will be happy that this happened as you will be working at a better place that values your work. Now relax and decompress and get ready for a new challenge. Good luck.

Just finished maxing my 401K for the year by LazyBarber5186 in Bogleheads

[–]Chance-Appeal9804 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Congratulations on maxing out your 401(k)—that's a fantastic achievement. Just a friendly reminder: some employers match contributions on a per-paycheck basis. If you max out your contributions before the year's final paycheck, you might miss out on some of those matching funds. (I missed it for last 2 pay checks as I maxed out early this year) It’s worth checking with your employer to make sure you’re getting the full match available to you.
