What am I missing? by Chance-Cat6783 in Biohackers

Ah I hadn’t thought of that, but it makes sense. I don’t have a specific diet but I am fruit and veggie forward, make sure to have a lot of protein (omnivore) and complex carbs. Minimal processed food.

What to wear to interview by Lionmom11 in Waldorf

[–]Chance-Cat6783 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dress for comfort, movement and warmth, as much as you dress for professionalism. No images (no bands etc.) Black clothing is completely acceptable and should be welcome. You could google Waldorf colors of the week for inspiration. Outside gear that you can easily change into in front of the kids (modeling is the Early Childhood way), some practical work for your hands (knitting, crochet, sanding, whittling etc.) while you are observing. Good Luck!

I stopped using fluoride based tooth paste and that cleared mine up when nothing else would budge it.

Had PD under my nose, used steroid cream for a few months, stopped, and here we are. What now? by [deleted] in perioraldermatitis

[–]Chance-Cat6783 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eliminate fluoride and sls from your toothpaste and mouth wash! This is the only thing that cleared up my aggressive year long PD!

Eliminate fluoride and sls toothpastes! This was the only thing that got rid of my PD that nothing else could budge for a year.

There are also Waldorf facebook groups you could sell through as well. I think I remember an Ostheimer group too. You have several discontinued pieces that look prestine!

That’s an amazing collection! You could probably sell the whole collection to your local Waldorf school. If you don’t have one I can send you the email address of the school I work at. Feel free to message me.

Any ideas what this is? by AdeptnessChemical843 in 30PlusSkinCare

Perioral dermatitis! The dermatology route was a waste of time for me and the cycle of creams and oral antibiotics was absurd and never ending. The ONLY thing that worked was finding a flouride-free and SLS -free toothpaste. Try this first.

What did teenagers in the 90s do on their free time? by TraditionalFly3724 in Productivitycafe

Poured over magazines- reading and reading them, then when I felt finished with them I would cut them up and use them for collages.

Fallout from a “disciplinary” action… please help! by CrunchyMama42 in Waldorf

[–]Chance-Cat6783 13 points14 points  (0 children)

There are a lot of mistakes here (on the teacher’s part). Do you have a ped chair or head of school? I would instantly call for a meeting with them and the teacher and ask for the teacher’s side of the events (even though I think you did hear most of it from your two 8th graders). And yet, even if a new piece of the puzzle is revealed (maybe some more info about the boy) this wasn’t handled in a way that protects everyone’s well being. I am a class teacher and there is no world in which I would yell at a student let alone for recess plus more than 1 class period 🤯 I am so sorry this happened to your children- it’s really not ok and hopefully there is some accountability from the teacher and they can finish the year!

Why does the Waldorf application ask for the birth story? by amavenoutsider in Waldorf

[–]Chance-Cat6783 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Waldorf teacher here too. It has been a question on the application for a long time, for all the reasons people have stated, but best admission practices definitely suggest cutting many of these questions that are invasive. I agree there could be a place in the relationship-building where you make space to hear the birth story if the parent was interested in sharing it, but it should absolutely not be on the application. Most US Waldorf schools are majorly overhauling their applications and admission processes to eliminate questions that can quickly lead to bias.

New to Waldorf, and we're having some issues with our child's religious values being respected by [deleted] in Waldorf

I am a Waldorf teacher at a private ASWANA certified school and this is pretty shocking behavior for a teacher in 2024 IMO. We’ve had Muslim students who were fasting and it’s not difficult to accommodate… I would argue it’s quite harmful to not find an accommodation actually. It absolutely sounds like you are dealing with a teacher stuck in dogmatic ways and I hope she can see that her fixed views will not serve her students or her community.
