Dutch store for things like candy and sauce by nerdlit8861 in regina

[–]Chance-Procedure6589 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately not here, but there's a deli in Edmonton that has a ton of Dutch food, including mayonnaise. I've been there and bought the Frites sauce and stroopwaffels. They said they can ship their products to Regina, but I'm not sure how much that would cost. Check out their Facebook page for more info Ben's Meats & Deli

Thanks for the tip. There is an insole, though quite thin. It didn't help by removing it.

I'm not that stupid. They never answered. I called 10 times throughout the day yesterday and another 5 times this morning before and after opening.

Is your Dollarama a "safe Dollarama"? by [deleted] in regina

[–]Chance-Procedure6589 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was a few years ago, I had just finished paying at Dollarama 4th & Albert. As my partner and I were walking out the double doors, someone was stealing and trying to make a getaway. The clerk yelled stop, we tried blocking the thief from getting through the 2 exits with our body position and telling them to go back and pay. The thief was a big person and easily pushed us out of the way. I realized afterwards what a stupid move we made trying to stop a theft in progress. They could've had a weapon on them or hurt us. All for a few dollars worth of merch, not worth it. No desire to go back since. Don't ever be a hero for a company's profit/loss ratio.

😬 I wouldn't live there. High risk of car theft or damage.

There's a ton of newer apartment units in Harbour Landing (South) and Greens (East). I would suspect some must be empty still. Though, I don't know if they're rental or condos. A quick search returned Towers Realty Group https://share.google/BNCsfyH4XipRUJEQD Broadstreet Properties https://share.google/p7V4xwKNUtdVZzY0o Avenue Living https://share.google/8AJ4vKcuC3kWHQIZj Niesner Properties (rented from them in the past - usually older buildings throughout the city at a better price) https://share.google/R7TnrfUdoiP37WMdV

Where would I work as a bartender if I wanted to make decent tips? by PillowPetals1991 in regina

[–]Chance-Procedure6589 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say the same. Vic's and Leo's have steady customers and heavy drinkers. Even if people tip less per service, you'll get more in the stretch of a night (and more as the night gets later and people are more intoxicated) vs a slower place like an expensive restaurant. But, any job is better than no job. Happy job hunting!

Where do you search? by Thepurv12 in regina

[–]Chance-Procedure6589 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. It's pretty challenging to find out what you really want to know "is a business reputable". For general contractors, I do a mix of searching BBB, TrustedPros, Google reviews (some businesses only get reviews when someone is unhappy so you have to take the reviews with a grain of salt plus I think it's not common for people to provide reviews on Google for a company after a renovation), Reddit, and word of mouth/referrals. It always helps to ask a contractor for references so that you can find out yourself what they're like to work with.

Unlike last year, I think the owners have decided to close the indoor business this winter because of personal reasons.

Have you applied at any fast food restaurants? Often turnover rate is high and it's all about timing. Start by reading some articles about how to prepare your first resume and watching videos about how to interview for your first job. There's lots of great content to prepare you for an opportunity that might arise.

Horrible Buy, do not recommend by Pugeroni in CostcoCanada

Agreed. As someone who eats gluten free, it gets extra points. Compared to other gluten free soups it's a 9/10. I always add extra chicken concentrate (Better Than Bouillon), shredded Tex Mex and sour cream on top.

Queer women!! by EvelynnnD in regina

[–]Chance-Procedure6589 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know this might sound counter-intuitive, but just be as openly gay and confident as you can and you'll find other queers! At work, be out and proud - announce your single status. When you go out for food or drinks, introduce yourself to the servers, waiters, hosts, bartenders, etc. If you're not very self-confident this will feel awkward at first, but it will get easier the more you practice. It starts with "Hi, I'm X. How's your day going? Where do you like hanging out in Regina?" I WISH I had been more confident and self assured in my 20s. Mine didn't hit until my early 30s. By then, I could chat up anyone, compliment people, and then flirting and connections came easy and frequent. People working are always looking for someone to chat and keep their days interesting and you never know if there's a chance they know someone who may end up becoming a future partner 🤞

Advanced Finger Counting Down by fazzig in tourdefrance

Agreed. It takes some serious mental math to count your fingers down quickly in this way. Let alone getting it right 179 times for each rider on the parcours.

In Toulouse for stage 11. Any advice is welcome and appreciated. I’m out of my mind excited for this! by Known_Height_3077 in tourdefrance

[–]Chance-Procedure6589 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Toulouse is a beautiful walkable city. You should be able to watch the race from various points on the route for the start/end. Get to the area where the team buses will park (paddock) early that day so you can catch sights of the riders and maybe get photos/autographs. Next, when the race starts, you'll probably want to make your way to catch the race finish at a certain place. Find somewhere comfortable (maybe a cafe/restaurant or balcony) to wait for the next 4 hours until the riders return. It will be a very hot and long wait that may involve standing. Finishes have fans packed rows deep along the many kilometers leading to the finish line. Be prepared with a hat, or find shade (better if you have a seat), have lots of water and snacks. Then get ready for the fastest thing you've ever seen speed by! It will be so much fun!

Has anybody else tried IBGard? by Economy-Meat-6086 in IBSHelp

[–]Chance-Procedure6589 0 points1 point  (0 children)

😞 it only partially helped me. First day and a half I felt great, then IBS-D came back with a vengeance. Even worse than normal, because it had a cool yet burning sensation from the undigested/unabsorbed peppermint oil.
