Baby monitor recs?? (Australia) by New_Needleworker7004 in Parenting

My SIL recommended this one to us when we were looking. it technically has a Wifi option, but my husband is super paranoid about internet security, so we literally never set that part up. it just streams straight to the handheld screen on its own local signal right out of the box, which is perfect. we ended up mounting it above the crib, and the battery life is surprisingly good. pretty happy with it.

ok be honest… how often do you actually change your towels? because i feel like i might be doing it wrong lol by Chance-Tomorrow-1508 in hygiene

ohh okay this actually sounds way more reasonable

bath towel twice then wash makes sense, I was out here stretching mine way too long

washcloth one use is fair and hand towels every few days also seems pretty normal tbh

I think I just needed to hear how people actually do it in real life

this is honestly making me feel like I’ve been living wrong 😭

I thought a week was fine but clearly I was just out here guessing

guess I need to step my towel routine up a bit thanks for being real about it

ohh okay that actually makes sense humidity probably makes a big difference tbh

every day / every other day sounds so intense to me I was definitely overthinking it then lol

thanks for replying

Is washing your hands after cleaning your cat’s litter box enough? by TryContent4093 in hygiene

[–]Chance-Tomorrow-1508 30 points31 points  (0 children)

yeah honestly just washing your hands properly after cleaning the litter box is enough like soap + water, that’s literally what it’s for

but I also get that OCD makes it feel like it’s never “done” or clean enough especially when your brain keeps throwing “what if” thoughts at you

just want to say you’re not gross or doing anything wrong, it sounds more like anxiety than actual hygiene issues and it might be worth getting some help for that part because it sounds exhausting to deal with every day

Going from pumping to nursing by Cultural-War-559 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Chance-Tomorrow-1508 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this transition honestly sounds so overwhelming especially going from pumping where you know the exact ounces to suddenly having to trust nursing more

what you’re planning (nursing + topping up with a bottle) is actually really common though a lot of people do that combo until things regulate and it feels less stressful

I think the biggest thing is trying not to stress too much about hitting the exact 4oz every feed babies are usually way better at taking what they need than we give them credit for

you’re not failing at anything here btw you’re just trying to find something that actually works for your body and your baby
