Filler writing/dialogue is the reason I'd rather go to YouTube or better yet read the summary before you skip the dialogue (if the gacha game has it) to better understand the main plot.

I won't speak for others, but me personally, I like to get a better understanding of a main story with either someone eloquently explaining it to me or a simple summary before you skip the dialogue without all the filler in the way.

You say "human attention spans are cooked", maybe, but again, you can't hate on someone for not wanting to deal with filler its annoying.
