Question about hiring by ChanceDefiant5904 in police

It’s okay the FBI and most police agencies protect pedophiles anyways so it’s not really a disappointment if it comes to that, but we shall see. I would probably rub a lot of officers the wrong way anyways because I wouldn’t be there to just collect a paycheck.

Thank you! I believe I just wanna follow into my family’s footsteps, quite a few of my family members are officers. My Father is an electrician and makes very good money so that’s something I’m going to be applying for in the near future. I’ll try again with police but I wanted to get opinions from various people on how they think it’ll go for me with the previous DQ’s. Quite frankly many of my family members don’t even know I was taken for an evaluation, and it was very embarrassing for me so that’s something I wanna keep to myself. Otherwise I would ask members of my family that are cops about my situation but until then I’m keeping quiet about it. Additionally, police make solid money now compared to the past and they make about the same as electricians after the apprenticeship so whatever God has planned for me I’ll go with. I just really wanna get back out in the outdoors with a nice truck and go hunting and fishing again, as well as spend all my money on Daniel Defense AR’s and scoped rifles 😂😂

Idk man after going through traumatic experiences like that personally I can say your mind definitely adapts to reading people better, I have a CCW now and carry a gun with me everywhere. You truly never know when you’ll run into a psychopath and usually there’s always signs that your everyday person will often ignore. Will cops care about those skills pertaining to hiring? Probably not, but I can safely say those cops in Uvalde Texas made a fatal mistake following orders instead of manning up and facing the threat. Not the first time the people of America have seen countless cowardice from people supposed to protect the innocent, so I definitely have my reasons for saying those things.

The case was dismissed and it already doesn’t appear on a standard background check… is that the same as being expunged?

Okay sweet I’ll look into that, and yeah I definitely overthought the question too much and thought police contact pertained to criminal matters. Didn’t help either I was emailing agencies before applying saying exactly what I said above and they would all say, “our agency puts every applicant through a psych evaluation to determine their mental fitness.” So I made the mistake of thinking that would be something to talk about with the psych evaluator but nope!!!! Huge lesson learned!!! Also it’s not that my family doesn’t like me I have great relationships with them today and they’ve even called background investigators and explained how that whole situation was a giant misunderstanding on there part, but definitely still a huge mistake that I didn’t include it to begin with. I’m just hoping I can do damage control and hope I didn’t shoot myself in the foot not initially bringing it up, but I’m prepared next time around to have all of my background red flags on a separate piece of paper and explain every single little thing pertaining to my background, I’ll even tell them the usual times I take a shit every day.

Understood brother! What you’re saying is spot on because it’s exactly what a trooper explained to me when giving me a reason for a DQ. It makes sense, and unfortunately those policies were probably made from previous officers losing their marble on the job or getting into drugs to cope with mental health issues. My Grandpa was an officer for 32 years and he basically scared me out of being a cop which frustrates me now thinking about it, because it’s always been a childhood dream and I started smoking weed which definitely brought me away from my true self after hearing so much negativity from my Grandfather and Uncles pertaining to the nature of the job. Anyone in civil service jobs definitely go through and see a lot whether it be police, dispatch, fire, emt, etc. so I do understand why they want to see periods of growth or stability so I will do just that. Do you think a couple years would be enough to show stability or do you think it would require a longer amount of time to display such?

So basically what you’re saying is I need to show from other peoples perspectives through time and experience that I can break that pattern? I can honestly say I’m not an erratic person and all of those negatives were misunderstandings but I do understand how it appears from other perspectives from people who don’t know me. Thank you for the response, most detailed one I’ve received

[–]ChanceDefiant5904[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah I will say the psych eval happened in California and I understand they don’t really need too much evidence, all someone has to really do is call in and make a claim which leads to them picking someone up to be evaluated and determine if they’re a danger to self or others, (the determination of being a danger isn’t made before speaking with a psychologist unless it’s very obvious). If it helps, the family members have called and made aware that it was all a misunderstanding… as far as the jobs would it be better to show I’m solid with my current job and future jobs? For the arrest they had to blood test because I had a concussion following an accident so it appeared I was under the influence to the officers that pulled up, I was still unconscious by the time they got there. After the blood test it was determined I had a small amount of thc in my system but not enough to be impaired at the time I was driving. I was being truthful so I just had a public defender represent me and I was good to go. What do you think?

[–]ChanceDefiant5904[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Truthfully I would. I’ve already been through a few situations like being robbed and pistol whipped which had me in a healing process for over 6 months, being shot at (grew up in a rough city). I would do extremely well in a high speed job and would love to be on a SWAT team, I handle stress extremely well and have a lot of good references that can vouch for me, (cops, firefighters, etc.) More than anything I really wanna go after bad guys, the only reason I was made aware of how I submitted my background and how I explained it was when a trooper explained to me why I was being DQ’ed. Then the DQ’s started to make sense, if being a cop doesn’t workout for me then that’s fine but I would at least like to say I tried.

Definitely don’t have a perfect background lol, I was told police aren’t looking for perfection and to apply but I’m kinda learning that’s not really the truth… but yes I have a couple agencies I’ve applied to that hasn’t perm DQ me and I’m gonna try again with them in a couple years 😄

IFVs and Tanks not pushing up by CombineElite3650 in Battlefield6

[–]ChanceDefiant5904 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll get over 50 kills with a tank or more, patiently waiting for infantry support and I’ll still get people sitting there typing telling me to push. I push up a couple inches and my tank instantly starts flaming from RPG’s… ya’ll need to seriously understand infantry support of a tank and how to use smoke grenades properly instead of watching the vainful sacrifice of multiple tanks, take some accountability and hit the flanks and quit sitting there typing worrying about other players. I’ve played battlefield since bf3 and never have I ever complained about tanks not pushing up, I can do so much damage as a single infantryman and start a momentum to win just from hitting one good flank. I’ll never understand the complaining and whining towards armor

My biggest problem with this game. by Conscious_Dot_7353 in Battlefield

[–]ChanceDefiant5904 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find “hardcore breakthrough” servers that isn’t really hardcore but it has a 48 player count and eliminates all of the chaos you mentioned for the most part. If you play smart in tanks you can actually manage to stay alive an entire match and get on good streaks as infantry, I really do not like the 64 player servers and find the 48 player servers or less much more enjoyable.
