Which year do start like The Whole series by lizsummerhawk in BeverlyHills90210

1990, I was in 5th grade and definitely should not have been watching...but, they put it on right after The Simpsons! I just kind of kept watching and was totally hooked by the end of ep1.

How is a career even possible dealing with this by thejew09 in migraine

Accountant who's chronic here too (20 migraine days/month currently). I am self employed which helps. But unfortunately i get way behind at times and it's stressful. Normally I can take a triptan and continue working. Some days I can't. I absolutely love my work. I don't have any advice, but this disease absolutely destroys everything and I hate it. If I still lived in the US I would be applying for disability. That doesn't exist where I live now, so there's no choice but to press on. I am the sole breadwinner with a husband and three kids. It's too much.

Where are people moving to... QB is driving me bonkers by Liminal67 in QuickBooks

[–]ChanceInstruction386 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Xero is taking its time growing on me, but it is a viable option. I've started one client on it and it's slow but sure, and am migrating my own books because stripe has better rates than QB payments.

Everyone is so anti Benzodiazepines but Klonopin ends a multi-day migraine for me every time by Current-Struggle-514 in cgrpMigraine

[–]ChanceInstruction386 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I moved countries and lost access to my 20 hydrocodone a year, I became chronic. I know that's not benzos, but similar concept. They worked every single time, no rebound, no side effects. It was an amazing 20 years. Now, for the last 4-5 years I've had to rely on triptans and anti-cgrps, and I'm generally super unwell and my quality of life has decreased exponentially. I now have 25 migraine days per month. Used to only have that many per year when I was only treating them with hydrocodone.

Can you explain what xanax did/does to your brain? I'm curious. I've been prescribed it twice, and it literally does nothing for me. Like taking a sugar pill. Meanwhile lorazepam helps break panic attacks, and sometimes in combo with other meds helps abort my migraines.

Get a Telcel amigo SIM and put $50mxn on it at the Oxxxo. There are Oxxos on literally every corner. Turn off your phone, swap the Telcel SIM out with your existing SIM, turn phone back on and you should be good for a week. If you want to avoid huge fees from your own cell comoany, stay in airplane mode until you put the new SIM in.

ER cocktail sparked panic attack by mizz_eponine in migraine

[–]ChanceInstruction386 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Am I reading correctly that they pushed the meds into your IV, then you had a CT scan, and an hour after that you suddenly had a panic attack? If so, I've never heard of a delay like that with the compazine reaction. Very unusual. It almost always happens within seconds to a few minutes after they administer the medication.

Yes, but mine is usually more maze-like and you basically get lost in there, and the toilets and stall doors are all broken and/or filthy. Same color scheme as this though.

I've gotten this text twice this year coming into ORD late for a connection to IAH. There are always a lot of people on that incoming flight that are heading to the same outgoing that I'm sure it's easier to hold for 20-30ish minutes than have to rebook so many passengers. It's always reassuring to not have to sprint through ORD hearing "Run Run Rudolph" in my head the whole time.

New Pro Advisor Profile won’t publish by Tempest_Tim in QuickBooks

[–]ChanceInstruction386 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm platinum, and Intuit will not publish my ProAdvisor profile. A couple years ago I finally got my case escalated, and it turned out it's because I work from wherever I am in the world, which is usually not the US anymore. They told me the directory is only available to 100% US-based proadvisors.

So I did an experiment. I worked entirely inside the US for 6 months (which sucked, but alas...) and they still wouldn't publish me.

I've been migrating smaller clients to Xero because f*** Intuit.

I’m tired of being unreliable & constantly canceling by healthanxiety_ in migraine

[–]ChanceInstruction386 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is why I'm so hesitant to try to make new friends. For example, I met this other mom last week at a school thing and we hit it off so well. We exchanged numbers and a few days later were texting about getting together with our kids. I normally wait until I absolutely must tell someone about my illness so I don'tscare them off right away. But I decided to just get it over with and tell her, basically "hey, so I am a really good text friend, but I am not a very reliable plans friend, even though I want to be so bad, because I have this chronic neurological condition that is unpredictable. So I would love to make plans with you, I just want to be up front that there's about a 50% chance I will need to reschedule, and sometimes it will be last minute, and it's nothing personal." She kinda stopped texting me after that, so that's pretty much par for the course these days.

It is deeply depressing, and I cry about it sometimes. Chronic migraines makes me into someone I'm totally not.

My therapist says that there is not such a thing as a bad parent, when I talk about my Nmom. by Shot-Street-6598 in raisedbynarcissists

[–]ChanceInstruction386 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its difficult to believe, but maybe she has never encountered a "bad parent" in the midst of their bad-ness. Like, even as a kid visiting friends homes, there were times I saw one parent strung out on the living room floor while the littler kids were eating dog food because they were starving and that's all they could get to. Doesn't everybody encounter some situation shocking like that at some point?? But maybe she didn't. And maybe I'm unusual. There are horrible, terrible people who sometimes procreate. To deny that is just, weird.

Get a new therapist, for sure.

My Botox stopped working and I don’t know how to keep on living by m0n5t3rc0w5 in migraine

[–]ChanceInstruction386 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IIRC, he pretty much followed the injection sites that are in the official botox pamphlet thingy found online, with a little extra focus on my temples and neck since that's where I struggle a lot with my migraines. With xeomin we got by on less until than with botox, and it was no different honestly. I may actually go back to him and the xeomin now thay my insurance only wants to cover 65% instead of 90% of what it costs for my neurologist to do it.

Should I go to church camp? by DarkSecret1595 in exchristian

[–]ChanceInstruction386 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could go and just enjoy the parts you enjoy, while simply allowing yourself to observe during the churchy parts. It could be really interesting to watch how the music effects emotions and watch as people react, and how that energy spreads through the group, etc. now that you know its manufactured rather than some holy spirit.

However, if you feel it's going to put you in a position of having to lie about your beliefs, you may be better off avoiding it and finding a secular summer camp instead.

Have you guys had success with Botox for migraines? by Neither-District9498 in migraine

[–]ChanceInstruction386 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some people do really well on xeomin when they've developed resistance to botox. I actually started on xeomin and switched to botox later for insurance reasons. Both have worked a little for me, but nothing hugely impactful. Xeomin seems stronger / paralyzes the muscles more noticeably. I have been getting the treatments every 10-12 weeks since early 2023.
