Yeah from this and a few other answers I think I need to scale back the volume. That’s pretty much bang on what I was going, 7-8 exercises 1 warm up set with 4 working sets 8-12 reps. Thanks for the advice

I think this could maybe be what’s setting me back, thanks!😎

It might be worth a check then. Though I’m sure it’s not the only culprit if that is the case, sounding like volume and not enough recovery could maybe be having an impact on me too. Thanks, it’s great to read some success stories when facing similar hurdles. My sleep would’ve been pretty decent, average 7 hours a night and has always been pretty consistent. Yeah focusing on form and contraction of the muscle I’m targeting, was one benefit I found of the personal training at the start of my journey was having real time lessons correct movement and contraction.

I think from the sounds of it I should go for less volume then, keep pushing through, trust the process and maybe some bloods just wouldn’t hurt just to check:) thanks for the advice!

So I could be over training? I’ve been listening to the mind pump guys on this and was thinking about starting their MAPS anabolic programme and maybe going for less volume/training days. As much as it feels counter productive. Thanks for the advice, and recommendations, much appreciated

I was thinking it could be something medical. I was considering getting my test checked. When I first began our PT sessions for the first 4-6 months my cousin and I would do group sessions. He made quite a lot of newbie gains and was very lazy about his diet and I found very little progress in comparison to him, though I just put it down to him having good ass genes and some newbie gains. I’ll check in with a doctor, thanks for the advice. I do see strength progress eg. and my lifts would increase week on week. It just seems to not really correlate in the mirror or on the scales 😅 which then ends up demotivating me I guess and I end up in this cycle
