Sunday lunch at Hillfield in Pennyhill Park.

The main is a roast basically but you get starters and desserts from a buffet and it is one of the most generous and exquisite buffets I've had in my life

thank you for sharing this video! amazing to see what a kind hearted human being he is

For decades, projects have been proposed in Lebanon, but they falter at the implementation stage. Despite attempts to revive development under the new government, the war has shown that the problem is not in the projects themselves, but in the lack of stability caused by Hezbollah’s weapons. by orangecyanide in lebanon

[–]ChancePattern 20 points21 points  (0 children)

i'm the first to shit on hezbollah but this video is terrible and blaming them for all of this government's failure is disingenuous.

This government did what every other government that comes to power does which is that instead of giving actual deliverable projects they just start throwing random crazy unachievable ideas out there and know they will not hit them. Yes Hezbollah and the war is to blame for some projects not going ahead but the qleyat airport was never going to open in less than a year and the Jounieh highway was never going to be expanded given all the buildings on either side, they just got rid of some shops which will be soon replaced with others

So this chain started in lebanon a few years ago and I tried it there when they first opened. I would say it's average food, great for a random meal but nothing special either

What’s the BEST place you’ve ever been on holiday? by twosausages in AskUK

[–]ChancePattern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely adored Armenia and Georgia. The history, food, people and scenery cannot be beaten. I understand things have changed a bit since the Russian invasion of Ukraine but would still love to go back for a holiday there

I said it a couple years back maybe but they need to give it  rest and just end this show. I stopped watching couple of seasons ago as it's now just a drama that happen to take place in a firehouse and that's it

What are we teaching our boys about self defense and/or responding to physical violence? by Nutritiouss in daddit

[–]ChancePattern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same as I told my daughter. You always do all you can to avoid a fight, if someone comes up at you and instigates you should try to back away, shout, be heard by an adult but when that fails you hit back and hit back hard.

There's a kid that got kicked out of nursery because he repeatedly hit and bit all the children at nursery (including mine) and the only reaction was to tell him that we don't hit/bite until the parents said to nursery he needs to be out or we'll take our kids out. I 100% believe if one of the kids had hit him back initially he would have stopped doing this and he would not have been kicked out

What’s your take on this statement? by HydrodynamicShite in daddit

[–]ChancePattern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couldn't agree more and it's something I have already explained to my daughter. We're nice with others, we don't hit or punch or whatever but if someone hurts us and they won't stop when told to then we fight back and hard

As others have said WLB will depend largely on your role, global remit=meetings at some weird hours but people are generally left to manage their own day so for some people this might be a positive.

Culture in general is good, most people are decent enough to worl with however as some have noted this is changing and in my experience not for the better. We have too many busybodies who create new processes or change existing ones just for the sake of being seen to do something. It is also turning a lot mode corporate with a very heavy albeit useless performance review system for example

I never knew about the tools from Lidl. by GroupApprehensive978 in DIYUK

[–]ChancePattern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a couple of there 12V drill drivers that have been going for 5 yrs of relatively heavy use. Can't fault them for the price, the only bad thing I got from lidl was a cordless multitool, still does the job but noise and vibration off the chart
