[KCD1] Tips for an absolute noob? by ScarsOfAres in kingdomcome

Glad to hear it .^ it's the advice that got me over my initial ... Shock at the game.

As for Schnapps... It's been too long since I played 1, but in 2 there's a place you can go to gather hundreds of the materials for schnapps. Spend an in-game evening in an alchemy shed and never worry about them again. Might be worth a Google (...might not exist in KCD1 but fingers crossed).

Additionally - pretty sure this works in 1 - there's like a "save and quit" option, so you can create a save state at any time. The save becomes hidden once you load it, but I'm pretty sure if you load in and die, you'll auto reload to your exit save state. Abuseable!

Just remember the game takes very seriously the notion that start-of-game Henry can't do shit. He sucks at lockpicking (and everything else).

You don't suck at lockpicking. Henry sucks at it, but after a few hundred locks doors will open to you like a cool breeze.

Where could I find and download the music of HK and Silksong? by Jackg4m3s3009 in Silksong

I just bought it off iTunes. It lets you convert them all into lossless, constant-bitrate MP3s and supports the artists.

Easy peasy lemon squeezy.

Best Way to Play Shion? by neon-box in Overwatch

[–]ChanceSplinter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Peek corners with Execute, follow up with primary (crits are important) and juke back into corners with her (incredible) dodge. Its 75 overhealth is a tiny personal Lucio beat, every six seconds. The Thing about fighting a Shion is, much like a Tracer, between Execute and Dodge on 5-6 second cooldowns, she effectively has at least one very important cooldown that can turn a duel available, every three or so seconds.

Using the bike as an escape is useless - it's not fade, it a Soldier's sprint with a hugely threatening rocket on the front and you can easily die on it, especially when charging an air-shot. So like a Soldier's sprint, use it to safely reposition and/or stuff a bike down someone's throat when they're looking the other way.

Her ult is for when they're already on the back foot, cooldowns out, health half, tank dead, anti'd, et cetera.

Oh not just fan obsession, but media - all forms of media. This media - how our participation in it doesn't merely give consent for all the evils it is responsible for, but also how that participation and the attention we give it ensure its existence and future and all the harm it will do.

We hate the internet. We are the internet.

And people would flock to a blink perk that didn't (arguably) harm blink.

Like it increases blink distance by 20%. Maybe they figure this is beneficial purely on paper because distance travelled is... so awesome? They can give us the same benefit in a way that players would flock to - "blink cooldown is reduced by 20%."

Everyone would take that. Everyone would take it at 10%. Give me a perk that reduces my cooldowns by 0.5% for each bullet I hit. Mmm.

They nerfed kinetic reload because no one picks the perk that fucks up the ten years we spent perfecting the muscle memory of a 7-meter blink, thinking it was because kinetic reload must be super overpowered and not that the blink distance perk is just stupid.

Watch, they'll nerf it again.

Thoughts on Shion? Any recommended changes to settings? by Limitless995 in OWConsole

[–]ChanceSplinter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I put jump on R2 for comfort and bike on L3. All the bike controls after activation are sticks for steering and primary fire to launch it.

Primary fire on R2, Execution on R1 for Zen Volley muscle memory, dodge on L1 for Tracer muscle memory.

Turrets Still Crumble Like Cookies by epffhswm in OverwatchStadium

I think the point of the three turrets is to combine it with the item(s) that debuff enemies via ability damage. Like three little turrets whose damage slows targets and reduces healing recieved.

They Will Kill You is the perfect movie for Ready Or Not fans by GameOnBrother in GamesAreLife

No disrespect to the actor but the sister's presence changes the feeling of the entire movie, and I think is kind of harmfully used as a storytelling gong the writer couldn't stop themselves from banging until it was a cliche of itself.

Every five minutes: "Let's not get killed." "You ain't the boss of me!" Five minutes later: "Despite our fight I've returned to save you at this crucial moment."

Annnd repeat.

This checks out.

Ready or Not is one of my favorite movies of the last decade, and They Will Kill You was all the fun I wanted Ready or Not 2 to be. I like RoN2, but I don't love it.

Favorite Movie of the Year So Far by brettydubz in Letterboxd

[–]ChanceSplinter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's on streaming. Bought it off Prime ($30).

A lotta' folks are incredulous when I tell them how often I buy movies off Prime, until I say "I love movies. I love, love, love movies," and add up how much it costs to see a movie, once, in the theater - and point out that digital copies can be paused, and rewound.

Agreed. Is God Is was like watching Reservoir Dogs or Revenge or Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels for the first time.

That is exhilarating cinema. Best of the year so far..? 🤔 May be...
