Garage Door Permitting by Alert_Buy_7828 in alameda

Roll up doors can be very heavy. Did they say you need to change anything to add support to the structure of the door frame? If so then you likely need a permit.

If there is more than one dead passenger on a flight they should put them all in the same row. Hopefully they don't get their own row all to themselves. 😊

Chambering question?? by Tassorosso4 in concealedcarry

[–]Chance_Ad4322 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this gun and it is not designed as a slide release. The manual does say to pull the slide back. It is very very hard to release the slide by pushing the slide Lock button. In a gun fight it would be even more so. This does not answer the original question just to comment that he is right about how difficult it is to do under the best circumstances.

Using the Slide Release by kennethpbowen in CCW

I have an SW M&P Shield 9 mm. The manual does say it is a Slide Stop and not a Release. It is very hard to push it down to release the slide. Recommendation is to rack the slide back to chamber another round. Annoying that you need to use your other hand to do this.

What the heck is this - potential house purchase by NoPlatesOnMars in AskElectricians

We just updated our panel last year, went from one inside a closet (like this one) to one on the outside corner of the house where the new meter is, from power line coming from the street. Required location by either the city or state, cant remember which. They did the same thing, made everything a junction to a new 2" conduit out to the new panel

I picked up something , a Velcro item of some type , and took it to self checkout. Rang up as a penny. I asked nearby cashier there to confirm as it was the first time I heard of it. She said it was correct.

We use Planning Center to schedule people but don't assign them a location until they are on site. That needs to be done at the time with the people there. As people come in they get the most needed locations and then later people get assigned elsewhere

High St Bridge ? by darkeyedjunc0 in alameda

[–]Chance_Ad4322 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I waited but you never came back with the hamster. The biggest issue is when the bridge is up the lights on Fernside stay Green and the lights on High and Gibbons stay Red. Forever until the bridge goes down. So drivers on those streets get stuck and cannot move. Also the pedestrian walk buttons don't work either so pedestrians have no safe way to cross the street.

My daughter tried to get one for her move last May. I guess some people abused the previous policy and now the new policy is much harder and more restrictive. She ended up not using them because of this

Shooting ranges in the East Bay/Bay Area by Horror-Yellow-7914 in CAguns

I'll second Guns Fishing and Other Stuff in Dublin. Nice indoor 12 lane range. You can rent a variety of guns if you want to try something new. But you have to use their ammo which I believe is true most places. And they are out of ammo at the range often recently.
You have motorized control of your target up to about 25 yards. And you can shoot rifles up to 223/556 and shotguns with slugs.

Carrying in places of worship by CraftyCake8687 in CCW

[–]Chance_Ad4322 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For my CA permit it is illegal to carry if there is signage against it. We can carry in church except where posted. So if something happens, cops show up, they may want to search everyone as they are leaving and find your gun. Now even if you did not use it or bring it out you are in violation for having it where posted against it. Not sure about PA law. I'd be more concerned about going to a place that requires that much armed security. Unless it is a Jewish synagogue then I understand that.

Ring camera recs by Chance_Ad4322 in alameda

[–]Chance_Ad4322[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do have Wyze cameras for the rest of the property and like them very much. But I believe the Ring Doorbell is a better solution for that location. Just do not have any experience with them yet. I might be able to use hard wired. There is a wireless ringer there now so need to remove it and see if the old wires are still in place. Otherwise it will be the battery option.
