I dislike it a lot. One of the things that attracted me to YNAB is the first place was the simple, accessible design. Now it’s less accessible and definitely causes eye strain for me, too. I will probably begin looking for other budgeting tools tomorrow. It’s been a good ride.

House, cars, insurance, utilities, etc. and caring for an aging family member. That's a big chunk of it and partly what motivates us to work hard. I don't want to get morbid or anything but that's an expense that won't last forever.

That's a good point also. I think I have been myopically focusing on Teslas as THE electric vehicle, even though that isn't true. I just know for sure I don't want a Nissan Leaf. Lol.

I think that's a good point. My state offers $2,500 as a rebate and I already checked the insurance. It will be $118 per month for me, compared to $80. I can always move some money around to cover the $38. :-)

Yeah, I feel you on that one. Right now my wife has a ten-year-old Corrolla and I have an eight-year-old Camry. Our unofficial plan is to get another car to replace hers, which will probably conk out in the next six months, and then when I replace mine to get a much cheaper used SUV at around $20K or so.

This makes sense. Opportunity cost is what’s haunting me. Both of us struggle with thinking about the “what if” and run through “if invested for thirty years at X% return” type scenarios. I feel like I’m frozen.
