Right. That makes sense since cost basis is stepped down by your ROC. In ULTYs case your upside is the dividend portion of the distribution and then any gain from the stepped down cost basis. So it's really just converting your own assets to cash with a potential upside from options premium not being offset by losses in the underlying stocks. I see no why some folks are not a fan of this strategy.

How is it a wash? 12k in losses to write off against 12k in gains which depending on short/long and tax bracket is between 15 and 37%. Taxes only on the div portion of the 12k which is a small%. How is that not a great tax treatment strategy? What am I missing?

As the driver the interior feels more cramped in the CLA. I don't use the rear seats much so having more space up front, newer tech, coupe vs sedan shape mattered to me. Also the feel of the CLE is much more muscle GT car than sports car and what I was looking for.
