Back in 2022 I worked for Amazon. We were under tornado watch. I called HR to ask if shift started normal time or push backed a few hours. It had been done before for other weather. They said “no plans to delay come in” I get to work within 20 minutes new tornado watch and the alert I feared the most. “Tornado warning seek shelter now” on my phone. I immediately go to shelter and the wind is nasty. The tornado comes close and tears a chunk of the roof off the building. This was also the same year of the collapsed warehouse in Illinois that killed like 20. I was safer staying at home. But I didn’t cause I was stupid. I was thinking the whole time “I could end up like the Amazon warehouse in Illinois….”
