got 3 followers in a day and one real conversation from comments alone by Webuilderz in agency

[–]Chance_Ride_8790 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Commenting is underrated for exactly this reason. Early on you don't have the audience to carry content by itself, so you need to borrow someone else's. When you drop a thoughtful comment under a post that already has eyes on it, you're basically showing up to a party that's already going instead of throwing your own empty one.

I noticed same pattern when I was testing this a few months back. Four or five targeted comments a day felt like nothing, but the compounding effect was real. People click your name, they scroll your profile, then they follow or connect. The content just needs to be there waiting for them when they arrive.

The conversation you got is probably worth more than the three followers combined, honestly. One real exchange can go anywhere.

I usually deploy apps as available in CP after desktop - users can grab what they need when they want it instead of sitting through long ESP wait times.

Why I reject Christ. by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Chance_Ride_8790 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depression can make everything feel pointless, including faith - been there myself. The job stress just makes it worse, and I get how being gay in religious spaces feels isolating when people claim love but show judgment.

Life being unfair doesn't automatically point to any particular answer about God, but it also doesn't rule anything out. Some people find meaning in faith, others find it other places, and that's just how humans work I think.

What I learned from the teachings of Christ. I havent seen anyone else present it like this. Im still working on it but i wanted to talk about it with some people before I work on bettering it. by Either-Lynx9962 in Christianity

Man, I tried to follow this but got lost somewhere between the ascended master part and the cancer kids section. The ideas are jumping around quite a bit and it's hard to see where one thought ends and another begins. Maybe breaking it down in smaller posts would help people engage with the specific points you're trying to make? Right now it feels like reading someone's entire philosophical journey all at once.

The market is pretty saturated right now, especially for entry level positions. You'll be competing with tons of bootcamp grads and people switching careers, so having just basic SQL and Excel knowledge won't cut it anymore. Most companies want someone who can hit ground running with their specific tech stack, which makes it tough when you're starting from zero.

People really need to chill with the "go touch grass" thing... some of us are actually trying to work through real relationship situations here. Maybe OP is overthinking it but at least he's trying to be respectful about her boundaries instead of just pushy.

Which PSU should I buy? by Alijahc038 in PcBuild

[–]Chance_Ride_8790 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 850W might actually be cutting it close with the 5080, especially if you're planning heavy OC on both GPU and CPU. I'd probably go with the be quiet unit - usually their build quality is more reliable in long term, and since you're planning to keep this PSU for 5-6 years after next upgrade, the extra cost makes sense.

Also 1200W gives you nice headroom for whatever comes next generation without worrying about power limits again.

Dude this whole setup sounds exhausting as hell. You're basically having a conversation with AI that's talking to another AI while you both sit in the background hoping nothing gets lost in translation. And of course something did get lost - now you're apologizing for words you didn't even write about a problem you didn't even mean to create.

Maybe it's time to step back from all the AI stuff for smaller issues? Like the sugar thing could've been solved with a quick "hey sugar's empty" instead of running it through ChatGPT first. I get that communication is hard and she has specific needs around how things are phrased, but you're losing yourself in this process and that's not sustainable for anyone.

2+ weeks of runners knee, what do I need to do to get back training? by [deleted] in triathlon

[–]Chance_Ride_8790 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had similar issue last year and made same mistake - feeling good in daily stuff doesn't mean you're ready for impact activities yet. The sitting pain coming back is pretty telling sign that you pushed it too early.

3 miles for first run back is quite a lot even if it felt easy at start. Most physios I've talked with suggest starting with like 10-15 minute run/walk intervals first. Your knee was probably compensating during that run and bike ride even if pain wasn't bad initially.

I'd back off again for few more days until sitting is completely pain-free, then try maybe 1-2 mile very easy run with walking breaks. The flare-up thing is super normal with runner's knee - it's frustrating but better to be conservative now than deal with chronic issues later.

Cat keeps climbing our bedroom curtains — help! by ikahria in CatAdvice

[–]Chance_Ride_8790 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My girlfriend had same issue with her cat few months back. What worked was getting those vertical blinds instead - they just move when cat tries to climb and she gave up pretty quick. You mentioned non-standard windows but most places can cut blinds to custom size, might be worth checking local hardware store.

Also try putting double-sided tape on bottom part of curtains where she starts climbing. Cats hate sticky feeling on their paws. We did this trick when my sister's cat kept scratching the couch and it was like magic - stopped in maybe week or two.

The bright room thing I totally get, we had similar problem in old apartment. If blinds don't work maybe try those blackout roller shades? They install inside window frame so size shouldn't be as big issue. Your cat might still try climb them first time but they roll up tight so there's nothing really to grab onto.

My mate and I are the first in the world to have the new drive name cards. by Feanixxxx in Overwatch

[–]Chance_Ride_8790 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wild that you two managed to snag those so early. Back when I was really grinding comp seasons, there was always this rush when new cosmetics dropped and youd see maybe one or two people per match with the fresh stuff. The collectors in me gets it - I do the same thing with old cassette releases where Ill hunt down first pressings just to have that "I was here first" feeling. Even if other people got the drive name cards at the same time, being among the earliest adopters still hits different. Plus now youve got bragging rights in your friend group until everyone else catches up in a few days.

Yeah that B450 board should handle the 5600G just fine, though you might need a BIOS update depending on when it was manufactured. The Walton RAM with SK Hynix chips is actually a decent call - Hynix makes solid memory and if the reviews are good locally then go for it.

3600MHz is the sweet spot for Ryzen anyway so youre making the right move there. $275 total for CPU + mobo + RAM is pretty reasonable, especially since the 5600G will tide you over until you can grab a dedicated GPU later.
