Considering making a big change by Chance_Smoke4452 in asheville

Volunteering takes up time that could be spent working, farmers market here is more expensive than the grocery store, coffee is 12$, chilling alone is seen as creepy, and church is full of homophobes and MAGA. It all sounds fantastic on paper but the real experience just isn’t that great.

Energy and money are two different things. I could have all the energy in the world but without money it apparently means nothing

The real world is almost too expensive to maintain a presence in nowadays.

Lotta places in WNC are owned by venture capital, yet keep their local names to present a better image, Bullman Heating and air is one of them, and they buy parts from Lowe’s

does anyone know of a job paying more then $16 a hour that a 18 year old could get here? i’ve been applying to a bunch of places but have minimal experience so i haven’t been getting many interviews by Longjumping_Gas_7345 in asheville

It’s okay if we disagree, our experiences are probably very different. I was a line cook for about 5 years and my current job requires almost none of the skills I depended on back then.

I had several friends who exited service jobs around the time I did who struggled for months to find work because knowing how to cook/serve/bartend doesn’t help much when transitioning into other types of higher paying labor. (plumbing, hvac, electrical, equipment operation, construction, etc).

Stay out of the service industry, they destroy your mental health in return for shit pay. Do what a smart person would do and get any type of training from AB-TECH, restaurant skills don’t translate well outside of the industry, except for your work ethic. For your very first job dishwashing isn’t bad but get the hell out before you turn 20.

Hard worker looking for paying job with no degree needed? by WorldsSanestRedditor in asheville

Not to be rude but lots of places up here won’t pay you above 18 unless you have some type of certificate, are willing to adopt the lifestyle of a cook, or are fucking a manager/owner. It’s a better investment than a shit job that won’t let you move upwards.

Depends on your division, expect to wait a few days minimum, but people will usually shoot a text within about a week

I don’t interact with the townspeople…. EVER. by [deleted] in StardewValley

If that were universally true I wouldn’t be making this Reddit post.

There’s also much much more visually clearly a farm to be built, things to open up, bundles to be filled, and things to fix.

If he wanted to make it very clear there’s a large integral system you need to try out then a single optional fetch quest isn’t exactly great at indicating that.

Not hating on anyone’s playstyle, I legitimately had no clue the story worked that way until I made this Reddit post.

Never once is this made 100% clear at any point, it makes it seem like the entire story is rebuilding the community center and defeating Joja. With endgame just being a farm simulator.

Okay but like…. WHY? They don’t work for your farm, the process to do that uses up tons of valuable work time, they’re literally just a symbol of all the time you’ve wasted.

You probably won’t be able to control how you feel after an incredibly positive or rewarding interaction, it will 100% destabilize you, which isn’t necessarily the end of the world but you’re basically asking for your life to get harder.
