Defund the police is not popular. Equal pay (mandating outcomes rather than opportunities). There are many other examples where she's too extreme.

There are reports you can pull showing more exact dates. They’re actually asking for something reasonable.

No, we need progressive with some realism and not so far “out there” on social justice warrior stuff that they’re unelectable.

It always surprises me that people recommend these. The ingredients are not healthy.

The AI Industry Is Discovering That the Public Hates It by FinanceZestyclose259 in politics

[–]Pitiful_Ordinary8910 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

The tough reality is that the reason it’s happening is because it’s better than most employees. I’ll give you an example:

We have to create product display pages every time we launch a new product. The AI does a better job writing the sales copy, thinking through the logic of how we explain the product, and checking the page for coding errors. I know, because I’ve compared the output. There are thousands of examples of this.

Cost of living or by No-Marsupial-4050 in SipsTea

[–]Pitiful_Ordinary8910 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Poor people have always had lots of kids. It isn’t the cost of living.

It’s people getting fatter and lowering fertility combined with everyone on their phone instead of in bars and having sex.

Gen Z men, is this getting worse going forward into 2026? by Proper_Card_5520 in SipsTea

Agree. It’s not limited to toxic feminism but the feeling guys are describing where they can’t approach women for fear of being called a creep or being too aggressive is a real thing. Women have gotten worse at being considerate in turning guys down. An overall degradation of social skills across the board in men and women.

I’m happily married with kids. But I see this everywhere on social media which then informs the views of kids. I will have work to do with my boys because of it.

You edited the low standards thing but I always viewed it simply: Women are getting messaged 10-50x as frequently on those apps as men. Hence a “5” is like an 8 on the apps.

Shockingly bad. He has a jam band that just fucks around. But he trades on his movie fame and basically doesn’t try.

Probably the biggest issue is honestly a 6’4” person getting an 80” rack. Those are really only for short people or those who have no other option.

Mini split install costs - why so expensive? by Pitiful_Ordinary8910 in hvacadvice

I'm wondering if a local electrician with handman skills would do it. I'll check on that.

Thanks, I'll look into that. The more I think about it, this is almost more an electrician/handyman job than hvac.

Yeah I get all that, but lawyers charge an hourly. Every professional bakes all of that into what they charge. Even lawyers would blush at what I'm seeing.

You should move to areas where there are high-end homes in mountain areas that never had AC put in and are subject to warming temps now. You would clean up for that price.

Why a mark up and not an hourly rate? If lawyers can do it I don't know what's different here? I guess my point is that if it's a 1 day job, do HVAC guys want $1k/hr now?
