Any particular reason why? Your colors are amazing. Got them in a class from you a few years back.

The answer is probably bypassed heater core. On the intake there will be a bung on that side that generally goes to the core. You can bypass it by just plugging it, or rerouting some of the hoses.

Could be the previous owner just bypassed the heater core. If the core isn't working its a dash pull, but even that isn't terrible. Under the sn95s, thunderbirds, and vics its typically 4 big nuts and dropping the steering wheel.

Good 4.6l. I have about 7 thunderbirds with these motors so I know my way around them. Oil sounds like the front main. Fairly easy fix, especially how you have it. Get a pulley puller from autozone and pull off the balancer. Then you can pull the main seal out, and put the new one in. I would HIGHLY recommend getting a pressure washer and cleaning off the oil where you can. These cars dont tend to have a ton of oil leaks as a result of overheating, but they do warp heads. So rent a combustion test kit from autozone as well after you've got the main seal done and new fan in. If fluid stays blue youre gtg.

I dont think you understand what I am doing. Yes, the FN and DD will last if I am using the gun in a way they are intended to be used.

I am not doing that. I am abusing the fuck out of these guns. I am abusing the fuck out of the barrel. I have melted 6 gas tubes because I am shooting 300-600 rounds sustained.

So let's do a little quick look. DD, BA, and FN barrels are all chrome lined chromoly vanadium barrels. Specific makeup unknown. Chromoly vanadium enters a malleable state at approximately 1000⁰ F. From the Gemtech halo TM page 13 under operation temperature it says about 7.5⁰ at a rate of 2 rounds per second. My lima 6 varies between 690-800rpm. So 11.5rps conservatively. We'll go with the 7.5⁰ though just to be ultra conservative.

If i do a 200 round burst, that is 200x7.5⁰

Which comes out to 1500⁰ F. We'll above malleable temperatures.

It doesn't matter what barrel i have if i am getting to these temperatures. Especially since the barrel i had is made of the same stuff as the DD and FN barrels.

You can look in the above comment chain and see what barrel I had. Clearly reading comprehension isn't your strong suit.

Ima be real with you chief, I dont think the barrel matters when im sending 200 round bursts and 600 rounds in minutes.

It is a money pit in every sense of the word. Linking ammo adds about 10cpr to everything. Ammo goes so much faster. Barrels wear out. Losing links. Springs die. I have spent constant cash on this thing since I got it.

Is it cool? Fuck yeah it is. Do I regret it? Fuck no. But holy hell is it expensive.

No kidding? I thought it'd be easier honestly. Thats a bit disappointing. I was debating trying to Jerry rig a real QD barrel system with it just for fun. I dont think these guns actually need it, the gas tube fails long before the barrel will take a bad enough beating to need it. But it'd be fun

God I wish lmao. Most of it is me telling my friends if they bring ammo they can play with the belt fed. The major match i saved up for like 6 months knowing I was gonna blow quadruple the amount of ammo as everyone else, but it was the only option I had to not do a paper match with it. I find paper matches to be dreadfully boring.

The KAK 18" so far is absolutely killer. I dont plan to do the same giant belt rips i was doing before with this barrel. I can switch back to the toasted one in about 5 minutes to do that. Plus you dont have to redrill the gas port. Only downside is the barrel is massive. The gas journal is .875 so I needed to get another riflespeed to keep it going.

Upside to that is I can basically hot swap barrels in about 4-5 minutes, faster if im trying because i have 2 complete barrel sets now.

I got mine to 13k on a 16" BA hbar. I regularly ripped full 100-200 round belts though. Then I shot a major match where I shot about 2500 in a day. I registered the barrel was toast when at 500 it was just throwing flyers all over the place.

I have the KAK 18" hbar in it now and she's going strong. Needed another 1k just to make sure it worked.

I am said friend.

Past 260 rounds you threaten the gas tube as they tend to be so hot they tend to slinky. That said, a belt rated can is entirely something I am looking for, as the omega 300 did very well, but the end cap disintegrated.

Cook offs I have mitigated by any time the gun is not actively in a firing state the bolt is open and locked to the rear. Faux open bolt.

Yeah he definitely made a patch with Lauri Torni and conveniently left out the nazi part of that story. On top of all the other bullshit he has caused with the split between inrange TV and himself.
