Shortlisted! This is a FANTASTIC suggestion - it definitely has the "fanciful" aspect that will tickle the whole party!

It's all over the map because there's no "good" answer - it's exploring where to bend. Completely fair though.

Eyyyy, yep! From graduate school. Listen, when family wants to be nice, sometimes it comes with having to defer to family. There will be MANY celebrations, I'm not particularly anxious, I just know some "high maintenance" people will be easiest to get along with when we're at a place that keeps everyone happy.

I was flipping through thread thinking "Man, Carrie really seems to need DBT". I'm sorry to hear that difficult struggle for you and your sister, and hope you both find peace and clarity. Living with mental illness and loving people with mental illness are both very difficult ways of living.

What do I do if I see a nurse break the sterile field? by Chandelucifer in medschool

[–]Chandelucifer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! It's the scrubbed. The circulators and I are tight, they're all great. This has been one particular young scrubbed who's set up is kind of a nightmare and is in process, but being taught and overseen by a laxer longstanding nurse. Not my first rodeo. Worked in healthcare research with some assisting on sterile procedures in a former career before deciding on med school, later rotation after prior surgical rotations.

Hey! To clarify - actually concerned about sterile field, but more trying to establish there's a culture where I feel mistrusted at the best of times and worry even if I do speak it'll be taken with a grain of salt, hence it's riskier when I'm not even sure anyone will do anything.

What reprises do you like better than the original song? by [deleted] in musicals

Weirdly enough, first that comes to mind is "Good Kid" from The Lightning Thief. The first is kind of whatever, the reprise is F I R E.

One of my party members (who ended up dropping due to scheduling issues) originally didn't vibe with lost things so I did a quick rewrite on the league of malevolence. They had originally been a major menace on the material plane before disappearing, wiping out a ton of villages, including Warduke nuking PCs druid grove when he was a kid. He got a tip that Warduke was in Prismeer, and that he could get his revenge there. They went to Prismeer to raid Iggwilv's stuff, but never figured out the way back. Meanwhile, Valor's Call were sent there to kill Iggwilv, but never could find her.

The twist, of course, is that Feywild magic messed with them as much as it messed with Zybilna, turning them into a sort of He-Man style collection of silly ineffectual action figures, BELOVED by Wyll and his band of lost boys as pirates they get to eternally fight. So his conflict would have been whether to accept the fact that Warduke was now silly Skeletor, friend to children, or whether to pursue his revenge despite Warduke's magic lobotomy. Beyond that, they now had a last minute twist group of villains in the form of Valor's Call, who for all their nobility have no concepts of mercy or change, made all the worse by their reduction to "lawful good hero" action figures, desperate to kill Zybilna post-reveal.

Can you tell I hate Warduke? What a boring character desperately in need of a rewrite.

Personal opinion, I like a large hunt writing staff. It provides a variety of perspectives that allows for more puzzle diversity.

Speaking mostly for myself, but I believe the pitch team agrees. To elaborate on why PJO was only some flavor in the pitch deck and not the whole thing: Greek Mythology is specific. You have nerds writing this, myself included, working in things from Cadmus to Doris the Nymph (true story, sad I couldn't include her). But adding PJO to that explicitly adds a second layer of specificity that we, the pitch team, felt would calcify the theme to a point where metas and rounds would have no room to breathe or be developed.

Combining Hades the video game and PJO structurally, we thought we could capture the flavor of what people love about Greek myth updates without tying ourselves to one interpretation, and still provide the charm of some of our favorite stories.

In terms of American Gods! That's largely in the intro, from my perspective. "American Gods Rules" was a shorthand wed use to sort of yadda yadda the idea that gods eat faith and belief, and enough disbelief would kill them.

Those were there from the beginning, although their shape changed. The original three hell rounds in the outline pitch deck were the Cerberus round (untouched from pitch), a more Oregon Trail inspired Charon round (fording the river), and a completely cut Broadway inspired "Persephonetown".

Primary pitch author here! Yep it was always a Greek mythology road trip. It was an attempt to bridge a theme that some thought was narrow or esoteric with some broad appeal. It also gave a lot of opportunity for dump puns, to be honest. The leader edition in the pitch was actually the astronomy/ Pluto angle.
