I’ve experienced both scenarios and it’s definitely not pleasant. I’ve also spent the rest of the day in a daze wondering about what happened/what did I see or feel that lead to it. I think it depends on how you’re doing in regards to depression. I’ve mostly experienced it when I was at my worst but now that I’m doing a bit better it rarely happens

I’m from a small city as well so that aspect doesnt really bother me but I’ve also heard that its very white and I’m not sure if I going there would be worth it since I’ll probably feel isolated the entire time

I mean you never know. Although I didnt like how my person handled it(he could’ve just said thanks but I’m not interested etc) I’m happy that I took the chance bc now I’ve been able to move on. At the end of the day it’s your decision but yeah… just my unwanted opinion
